Grrrrreat!,
This review is from: The One That Got Away (Sweet Valley High Senior Year No. 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
I love this book. I love how Will comes a crawlin' back. I knew he would. Melissa now sees what it is like to not have the perfecr life. Yet, now Jessica seems to. WHy is it soooo easy for all these character to fing boyfrineds and girlfriends? I can't find anyone who is anywhere near as perfect as Jeremy or Will. Oh well, its SV.

The one that was lost?,

This review is from: The One That Got Away (Sweet Valley High Senior Year No. 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a really good book, because Will sticks up for Jessica, but lies to Melissa about going on a date with her(the Kidnap). Melissa wants Will back, but he pursues Jessica, even though she has a boyfriend. Angel and Tia are mentioned as well, and the dilemmas in their lives. Conner's facing his own dilemma in his life, and what's happening with Maria and Ken? Read this book, because it's really interesting. I like the part most about Will sticking up for Jessica (starts pg 100.) Thanks for reading.

Enough of the Liz and Conner storyline!,

I'm sick of it! Liz is the perfect little blond without a care in the world, she is smart pretty and popular. Yeah right! People like that don't exist! However, Jessica has really emerged as a real character. I love the whole Jeremy or Will thing. I'll definitely keep reading and you should too! :o)

Ok so this series is pretty good but am I the only one who is tired of the Connor/Liz story getting dragged on? They like each other and then he gets mad about something and totally ignores her. I think we all know they'll end up together. It's been going on for 9 books so get them together and move on! They seriously need a new storyline.

The ups and downs of teen life in California.,

This review is from: The One That Got Away (Sweet Valley High Senior Year No. 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
Okay,I like that the teens have made the transition into modern times(read:the biggest tramas in some of the original Sweet Vally High series were Jessica having a hot date and not knowing what to wear). But I am NOT happy with some of the new charecters.I dispise Conner. He's a jerk.So why do all the girls go crazy over him? No one's that good looking. And I really want Jessica to try dating someone after she knows some stats on them.By the way, what has happened to Todd? Elizabeth and him were hot and heavy for so long and now he's lucky to say a sentece in every other book. The series on whole rocks!!! :]

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I will start off by saying it kept me in suspense and was a real page turner! You just want to keep reading until you finish. I finished it in an hour the day I got it. I actually don't think Will is that bad a character, he seems sweet. Don't get me wrong, Jeremy and Jess rule, but maybe we could find another sweet girl for Will. Okay, onto the book. Liz and Conner are hardly in it. Jessica and William make this meeting which really isn't a date because Tia was coming, but then Tia backed out at last minute so it seems like a date and Jeremy caught them after Mellissa(YUCK)told him Will made a date with Jess, which wasn't true at the time and now Jeremy and Jess broke up. Whew, long breath, huh?

9th Book in the SVH Senior Year Series,
By A Customer
This review is from: The One That Got Away (Sweet Valley High Senior Year No. 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
"The One That Got Away" centers primarily around Jessica Wakefield, Ken Matthews, and Angel Desmond. First up: Jessica, who discovered her secret admirer was Will Simmons in the previous book (#8: "Maria Who?"), has decided not to tell her boyfriend (Jeremy Aames) anything about it yet, which causes problems later on when he does find out via Melissa Fox. (Melissa definitely lives up to her last name again in this book; she's extremely sneaky and manipulative. I can't wait to see what else she's up to in the following stories.)Next up: Ken appears to be finally coming out of his shell (caused by the death of his girlfriend, Olivia, in the big Sweet Valley earthquake awhile back). The reason for his attitude change? Maria Slater. Looks like these two will be pairing off pretty soon--that is, if Ken can completely get over Olivia first. And lastly: Poor--and I use the word intentionally--Angel is developing a bad betting habit at the horse track. His whole college career could be riding on his careless spending. "The One That Got Away" pretty much ends on a bum note for everyone. Hopefully, a few of the characters will find some hope and resolve in the next book: #10, "Broken Angel".

COOL SERIES, BUT...,

This review is from: The One That Got Away (Sweet Valley High Senior Year No. 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
OKAY, I HAVE TO ADMIT, THIS SERIES OF SWEET VALLEY IS MORE MODERANIZED AND REALISTIC THAN THE ORIGINAL SVH SERIES BOOKS. BUT...TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, I PREFER THE PREVIOUS BOOKS. I MEAN, THIS WHOLE EARTHQUAKE AND SENIOR YEAR THING HAPPENED WAY TOO FAST! I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THAT OLIVIA DAVIDSON IS DEAD! SHE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS. AND I CAN'T ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THERE WILL BE NO MORE ELIZABETH AND TODD! THEY WERE THE IDEAL COUPLE. I REALLY DISLIKE THIS NEW CHARACTER, CONNER, MUCH LIKE I DISLIKE THE REST OF THE NEW CHARACTERS. THEY ARE JUST NOTHING LIKE THE REAL STUDENTS OF SWEET VALLEY HIGH. I MEAN, THE WHOLE BOOK JUST FOCUSES ON THE NEW, AGGRAVATING CHARACTERS. (MELISSA, WILL, CONNER, ETC.) I DON'T LIKE IT. I AGREE WITH WHAT A PREVIOUS REVIEWER MENTIONED: WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE OLD GANG? THEY WERE MUCH BETTER THAN THESE STUCK-UP EL CARRO LOSERS. FRANCINE PASCAL, I BELIEVE, IS AN EXCELLENT TEEN-BOOK AUTHOR, BUT SHE NEEDS TO BRUSH UP A LITTLE ON THIS NEW SENIOR YEAR SERIES. I FEEL LIKE I'M READING A MONOLOGUE OF THE SAME BOOK! THE ONLY ONE THING GOOD ABOUT THIS NEW STORY, IS JESSICA'S MORE SOLID, INTELLIGENT CHARACTER. I REALLY LIKE HOW SHE'S GROWN UP AND LEARNED FROM PAST EXPERIENCES. OTHER THAN THAT, THERE'S NOTHING ELSE AS MUCH CAPTIVATING. I'M TELLING YOU, THERE'S NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL SVH SAGAS. GO READ THOSE. ATLEAST THEY HAVE INTERESTING CHARACTERS THERE.

Depressing,

This review is from: The One That Got Away (Sweet Valley High Senior Year No. 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is depressing to say the least! Why on earth did Jess go out with Will and break poor Jeremy's heart? Ain't that boy suffer enough already? I think he's one of the sweetest character ever to appear in a SVH book. And geez, we get to see the bitchy side of Melissa Fox yet again. Doesn's she ever give up? Yeah, Liz and Conner have been dragging on for months now and they're like mentioned only 3 times in the book? What happened to Winston, Enid, Todd the old gang? Don't vanish them just like that. Maybe we should make Conner's friend, (i forgot his name, but he was in book 3-4) ask Liz out for a date. He seems interested in her last time....
