More About the Author

Debra Salonen wrote her first story in crayon on the underside of her mother's coffee table. Her mother was not amused. Subsequent writing efforts included a screenplay for Flipper--in block print on lined paper (you can see why it never got picked up, right?), a spy thriller --okay, a blatant rip-off of James Bond; an Irma Bombeck-esque series of letters to her family, which might have come across as a tad more whiny than amusing, and, eventually, she enjoyed a four-year stint as an award-winning feature writer for a newspaper.

In 2000, her first romance novel was published by Harlequin for its Superromance line. That novel, THAT COWBOY'S KIDS, has recently been re-released, bringing Deb's total number of published books to 30. Her May 2010 release, UNTIL HE MET RACHEL, was honored by RTBook Reviews as the Reviewer's Choice for "Best Superromance of 2010."

In addition to her two current Superromance titles, RETURN TO THE BLACK HILLS and A FATHER'S QUEST, Deb is enjoying a renewed flirtation with short stories. Her first Kindle release, "A Hundred Years or More," looks at that special bond between a pet and his owner, and what happens when a pet--in this case, a parrot--outlives his owner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book, June 25, 2000
This review is from: That Cowboy's Kids: Home on the Ranch (Harlequin Superromance No. 910) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was so easy to read that I could not put it down the first night. The writing was excellent. I felt like I was prying in on someone elses personal life. I was a bit hesitant to start reading it because I am usually not a fan of romance books. However, I truely enjoyed this book. I would recomend this book to anyone. I even made my fiance read it and he loved it too!

Abby Davis is a victims advocate and good at her job.
Her boss, Daniel is a bounder.

Tom Butler, who has been baching it, now has two daughters to raise. [another woman's bad decision] There needs to be more marriage counseling made manditory.

Angel,12, has a bad attitude, she thinks maybe her step-father, Val caused her mother's death. And a foul mouth, not to be tolerated. [and not addressed]
Pool little Heather, was in the car when her mother was killed.
These children needed help.

Abby could also see the pain in Tom's eyes as he struggles to help his girls deal with their mother's death.
Tom's ex-wife even denied him the privilege of being at Heather's birth.

Abby still appeared to need counseling herself before she could surrender to the attraction she felt for Tom as she fell in love with his daughters.

It turned out to be a great story but I sure don't need to have the f-- word put into play out of a child's mouth. [in theory she picked it up somewhere] it is disgusting! It is attrocious when women lower themselves to use it. [very degrading]

Will recommend with reservations - excellent story, good characters but . . . . . .[too common, everyday tripe]
