Roy Gerson does some great renditions of some classic numbers on this CD. I'm not a big jazz piano fan, but this is one CD I can listen to. The work is very stylish, upbeat and classy. To make a dated number such as "top hat" sound refreshing is an accomplishment in itself. And let's not forget this includes that great piece featured briefly in the film "Eyes Wide Shut" when Cruise is walking in the bar to see his friend, just before the surreal evevning gets underway. After listening to this CD, I wish that Roy Gerson had more CDs to choose from. I admire his work.
