5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, July 2, 2005
This review is from: That We Might Live (Paperback)
The story of Grace Nash and her husband and small sons as they struggle through World War II in the Phillipines. The whole family is captured by the Japenese and kept imprisoned in camps. It is only by the brave generosity of people outside sneaking in food, and Grace's ability to play beautiful music on the violin, which pleases some of the more humane guards, that they survive.

Very good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Treasure, October 29, 2009
This review is from: That We Might Live (Paperback)
This is the story of my grandparents and their three boys, including my father. It has great meaning to me for it tells a story in many ways unspoken, for the horrors were too great. The impact of such an experience travels through generations. May the lessons learned through the tragedy of war and stories of exceptional will and survival also live on. Of note: the author, my grandmother, is soon to celebrate her 100th birthday and continues to be an example of life lived with determination and joy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extraordinary book from an extraordinary woman, August 17, 2010
This review is from: That We Might Live (Paperback)
I had the chance to meet Mrs. Nash the summer before my senior year while doing volunteer work at a local assisted living community. I worked with the Chaplain writing stories about the residents and I had the pleasure of reading Mrs. Nash's book. I was moved to tears by her tenacity and perseverance, and her strength and courage. She is truly a great woman and I absolutely LOVED this book and its sequel.
