Here is a calendar for those of us with busy schedules. There are large squares to keep track of daily life plus when you do have time, you also have twelve quilt patterns to make. Two for one!

A new quilt is shown every month for a year. A large photo of the quilt adorns the top half of each month's page with a tear-out section at the back that gives complete instructions for each quilt. It has the quilt size, materials, needed, and cutting and sewing directions. There are plenty of graphics to guide you along and a how-to section on assembling and finishing the quilt. If templates are needed, they are provided as well.

The last two pages of the calendar contain the basic instructions for appliqué, cutting, machine piecing, adding borders and finishing. This will make a wonderful Christmas present for the quilter in you life.

Every year I buy my mother a quilt calendar, but for 2010 the calendar I usually buy wasn't available. I looked over the entry for the Patchwork Place calendar and decided to give it a shot. It looked a little pricey, but then I thought, What the heck, it's for my Mom! We were both very impressed. It has detailed instructions in the back, which makes it a better value than some of the quilting books you buy for the same amount of money. We loved, loved, loved ten of the quilts and the other two were very nice. The instructions and templates were great. What a value! Now I don't think it's pricey at all, AND I have a new regular quilt calendar to get every year - That Patchwork Place! I highly recommend this item, both as a calendar and as a source for beautiful quilts.
