Book Description

November 3, 1998
He ravished her senses and savored her with every touch and taste....

Russ Tandy was still the handsome heartthrob she remembered, but Tory Grenville had to remind herself she wasn't the skinny, tongue-tied class brain any longer! Pleased when Russ asked her to chaperon his daughter through a local beauty pageant, she agreed to help, but teaming with Russ felt a little too close for comfort! Could a woman who'd never been lucky at love win the ultimate prize in the arms of a dreamboat dad?

With delicious humor and memorable heat, Kathy Lynn Emerson offers the irresistible promise that you can go home again--and maybe make a few high school dreams come true! She'd always wanted to be swept off her feet, especially if Russ did the honors, but could the man who'd captured her heart years before finally be hers for keeps?

"What's so funny about me driving you home?" Russ asked.

At first he didn't think Tory was going to answer.  Then he caught a glimpse of her face in the light of a nearby streetlamp, and he could have sworn she was blushing.

"You must have known I had a crush on you in high school," she murmured.

"Did you?" He felt ridiculously pleased.

"Oh, yes," she assured him.  "Big time.  And to the teenage girl I was, dinner tonight and then--be still my beating heart--you driving me home, well, that would have made all my teenage dreams come true."

Although her tone was light, Russ sensed more than a little genuine emotion behind her words.  "I wish I'd known how you felt back then."

"No, that would have been too humiliating," she said quickly.  "You might not have meant to be cruel, but you'd have laughed your head off at mousy Vicki MacDougall lusting after the big basketball star."

"Teenage boys aren't noted for their sensitivity," he said.

"Besides," she added, "I heard your dates got more than dinner and a ride home." As soon as she said it, she looked stricken.  "Can I take back that last part?"

Russ had never been able to resist a challenge, especially one issued by an attractive girl.  "So," he teased, "exactly how would this dream date of ours have ended?"

He didn't give her time to answer, sure he knew what it would be.  Instead, he tugged her close, and leaned in to bring his lips to hers in a playful kiss, just between friends.  Or so he thought until his mouth actually touched hers...
