What can one say about a book that clearly goes through the possible ideas a young child might entertain? This book has some very funny pictures to match some very clear notions of what is not worth doing, including playing with poo and bothering the household's pet. Like all books for young children, it should be read out loud and with room for discussion. But don't worry about leaving it around for your youngster to check out; keep in mind that this book is based on a child's repetoire of ideas, not an adult's. And take it as lightly as it is offered, to be enjoyed with a child.

I just don't know how to respond to people who are freaked out by this book -- there isn't anything in here that kids don't think of trying themselves, no matter how "disturbed" prudish adults might find it. And, after all, the title of the book is "That's Disgusting." It's icky and silly, not scandalous.

My kids love it. If you are squeamish parent, you won't like it. There's a finger in the cat butt. "That's disgusting!" But for you bold and brave parents trying to teach your kids about what is gross and not acceptable behavior, it is a nice place to start. And my kids have never put a finger in a cat's butt. Good literature teaches!

Any little kid who can read will be tickled by this book. Oh the things they can do that are disgusting! You wouldn't believe they'd put it in a kid's book, but they did, and it's not bad because, believe me, it works!

This book could be viewed as over the top for some parents, but we enjoy reading it and it can keep a kid engaged. We enjoy it very much.

A fun book, very kid appropriate: A nice mix of pictures to words, with a good cadence to the text.

The subject matter is something all kids can relate to. I know _my_ kids love looking at disgusting things (whether dead animals or pond scum or whatnot) and exclaiming about the grossness.

Since a lot of the words are repeating this is also good for learning to read: the repeated words give an easy satisfaction to each page.

I actually don't agree that everything mentioned is all that bad. Slugs are cute, aren't they? You could even have a teaching moment while discussing some of the pages with your kids.

I found this book to be Hysterical!!! I was practically rolling on the floor with tears streaming down my face! However, I absolutely do not recommend this book for anyone under the age of 12. I think it's adult-oriented, and it's totally inappropriate for children.

This book has been my son's favorite book since before he could read. We'd take turns reading the pages, so he always read "That's Disgusting!" and felt like he could really read what it said. Other than one questionable page regarding a cat... this book is good fun for any reader, children and adults alike! It is a constant favorite in the classroom when we bring it for "Mystery Reader Day!" Bravo!!
