This is about as good a pop/country album as you are likely to hear from today's country music industry. I fell in love with Mila Mason's voice when I heard the single "Dark Horse" on the radio. She puts a ton of emotion behind her songs. You can really hear the heartache on ballads like "Tonight I Know I Will" and "Heart Without A Past"!

Lucky for me to find this at a garage sale! I didn't quite know what I was getting, but it certainly is a treat. It's my introduction to Mila Mason who has an expressive country voice that works well on the rockers like "That's What I Call Love" & "That's Enough of That." "I Don't Need A Man to Live With" has a good twist as Mila croons that she wants a man she can't live without. On the slower tracks like "Heart Without A Past," Mason shows she can belt with the best of them, guaranteed to put a tear in your beer. "Dark Horse" was the single & pulses with a midtempo beat. Mason's freshman set from 1996 was an excellent first outing. Enjoy!

This is a country/pop CD that is very fun to listen to. Mila has a voice with a nice accent and character. The songs are fun and enjoyable. Here they are:
That's What I Call Love - fun intro Hot to Molly - girl marries a guy people think is not good, but she loves him and it works. Pun on "hot tamale." That's Enough of That - uptempo song with great attitude. The singer is going to quit moping about a guy and just move on. I Don't Need a Man to Live With - Mila wants to find the soulmate or else nothing. Hear without a Past - nice ballad That's the Kind of Love I'm Talkin' About - fast song about a love that will last. Troublemaker - kinda rough tune, Tanya Tuckeresque I Do - the least fun song Dark Horse - about a summer love from youth This is Mila's best album. A straight-up fun country/pop listen. Get it.
