i've never written a review before...,

This review is from: That's Not My Fairy (Usborne Touchy Feely) (Hardcover)
since i always refer to other people's reviews for everything, i figured i'd throw out my 2 cents just to say that my daughter (10 months) has this book and "that's not my bear" and she loves them both. i'm ordering a few more in the series. she has learned to turn the pages and also to touch the "feely" part of each page. totally cute, sturdy, perfect length story for babies' attention span. her favorite pages are the bumpy slippers, frizzy hair and scratchy tongue. good way to teach about adjectives, too!

Defective book. There are 2 "That's my fairy pages",

This review is from: That's Not My Fairy (Usborne Touchy Feely) (Hardcover)
I have a few books from this series and my 16 month old loves them. However, I am disappointed in "That's Not My Fairy" because the last page (the 5th spread where you finally find your fairy, "That's my fairy") is also on the 3rd spread.

Is this racist?,
This review is from: That's Not My Fairy (Usborne Touchy Feely) (Hardcover)
I absolutely love this series and so do the little ones I share them with. This one did not disappoint with its lovely colors, great girl appeal and wonderful textures. However, I was dismayed to find the page with the caption, that's not my fairy, her hair is too frizzy. Wondering if I was being oversensitive, I showed the book to several other people who agreed that line is a bit offensive, as the hair resembles that of an African American child. Other than that I loved the book.
