Not as good as others,

This review is from: That's Not My Kitten (Usborne Touchy Feely) (Hardcover)
This one is not as good as the others in the "It's Not My..." series. Only the last page has a decent, large section of fur to touch. The other pages are filled with areas too small, like the nose or the paws or a bell around the neck.

This is an excellent book for babies. It has great sturdy pages and super cute touchy feelys. This revised version has been much improved. The nose is bigger and spongier and their are added decorative flowers and butterflies. Pretty colors! My daughter, who is 17 mos., really enjoys flipping through this book and other ones in the series!

These are the cutest series of books. It can get a bit repetitive as they use a lot of the same adjectives over (rough, bumpy, fuzzy), so only pick out a few books. It is tempting to buy more though because they are cute.

Not as good as that's not my princess or dragon or puppy...the touch and feel stuff just isn't as interesting, the bumpy paws are sandpapery, but my daughter is bored with the smooth tongue that's just lamination and the shiny bell, the other books are so much more tactile and have so much more interesting things to feel. I am going to get that's not my princess instead, she loves that one.

I had heard great things about these books, though I worried my one-year old wouldn't really care how cool they were because she can rarely sit still for a book--we have to read as she wanders around the room! But she does like the fur, velcro, sandpaper, etc! She will touch them while we read, or open the books herself, just to sit and feel those spots.

It's ears are too fuzzy, it's paws are too rough,It's tummy is so fluffy. These I understand. It's bell is too shiney doesn't offer much tactile interest (none really) and it's nose is too smooth is now all clawed and rough because - though it started out no smoother than the rest of the page- it's less durable to kids nails and now they're given it a rough texture). This is a cute book, my kids enjoy it -but both they and I prefer That's not my monster and that's not my dragon. (1 year old triplets - they've been using these books since about 6 months)

My 9 month old son absolutely loved "That's Not My Lion" so we ordered this book. The touch and feel parts aren't as big and the textures aren't as interesting. He is completely bored and I'm very disappointed.

We own about 7 of the books from this series, and I think this one is in the middle. For some reason my son is just not as into this one as the others - maybe because the patches are a little smaller. My son has liked these since he was only about 3 months old, now he is 8 months and is really getting into touching the pages. I highly recommend the dinosaur and monkey books - they are his favorite.

Our son has loved these books. They hold up very well - the pages, the spine, and the interactive elements. Our son loves books and this one was a favorite for some time.

I love this book! We have a few by the same author, all are fun and simple to read. My 15m daughter loves it, she can see the pictures of the kitties and pet the parts that have textures attached. She loves to touch the furry ears and tummies of the kitties.
