4.0 out of 5 stars Not too shabby. . ., January 10, 2002

The biggest thing that prevents this record form getting a 5 star rating is without a doubt the track Fire Dance, which I guess is supposed to be like reggae hokey-pokey, and its terrible! A BOBO doing a song like that is just so unexcusable. That being said, there is no other weak track on the record, (while I can't say that I like the song Good Life, its still a decent cut.) My favorite song here is without a doubt Black Coffee, where Anthony B, does absolutely nothing but bigup the black woman, its easily his best song, besides Fire Pon Rome of course. I also like All God's Children, Rally Round and I Will Never Bow Down with the brilliant Stephen Marley. Overall, like I said, minus Fire Dance its a very good record. Listen to it on a portable cd player or on a remote controlled stereo system, so you won't have to get up to skip track # 6. Good stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars one with a difference, January 8, 2002

Anthony B will never produce another album like so many things because that was the greatest but this album is one with a difference. it is very solemn and it touches many of the current affairs of the world, especially in "Fire pon de government". He also does justice by recreating Peter Tosh's Equal rights. The album also has some upbeat sounds like Dust Dem and Next millenium. these remind me of his very first cd. The two sounds that Really touch my heart is number 6 Fire dance which has a sense of the old ska style and Rally round. definitely a cd for the conscious reggae lover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life Is A Beautiful Thing, August 19, 2003

This is another great album done by Anthony B. Released at a time when the turban wearing Bobo Dreads have really been making their mark on the reggae scene (Capleton, Sizzla & Junior Kelly) Anthony B refuses to be forgotten. Showing all these fiyah starters that he is the original Fire Man (ex. Fire Pon Rome) he comes with such titles as Fire Pon Di Government, a song denouncing the evils of politicians and government institutions, and Fire Dance which is a more fun dance type of tune bordering on corny but remains catchy. Anthony B holds it down with such excellent tunes as All God's Children, showing the Rastas that we are all one blood... a point well taken from the usually seperatist Bobo Shantis, Good Life which spreads the positive vibrations, Equal Rights is a remake of Peter Tosh's classic... and it is incredible, Anthony B schools people about real heartical love in Love or Infatuation. Other great tunes are Dutty Heart, Dust 'em Out, Man Got To Do and Rally Round. Although there are a few weak songs on this album, it doesn't keep it from succeeding. In fact I would rank it up there close to Universal Struggle (1998), but not quite topping it. If you want some good dancehall Rasta reggae without the fat.. chew on this, JAH know!
