totally inspiring!,
This review is from: That's Life: Finding Scrapbook Inspiration in the Everyday (Paperback)
This book is a MUST OWN. Especially for those who struggle with journaling, or are like me and love to scrapbook the everyday. Not only are the pages beautiful, but the author shares so much of her 'ordinary' life and makes it into something extraordinary. Of course the contributors also add to the interest and depth of the book too. I can't recommend it enough!
Memory Makers Books has not let me down in the last few months- this is no exception. Nic Howard is fabulous and I hope she authors another book!

inspirational,

Love this book!! I knew I would like the layouts, Nic Howard's work is always immaculate and beautiful. What I didn't know was how much inspiration I would get from it. I am flooded with an abundance of ideas to scrap every time I open it, and because of the nature of her writing I find myself flicking back to previously read pages frequently, to re-admire her work or to reignite an idea or thought.
Hands down, the best scrapping book I have bought. That's Life: Finding Scrapbook Inspiration in the Everyday

That's Life...,

is must-have for scrapbookers. We take pictures of the big things, birthdays, holidays, etc. but 95% of our lives are the little things and if we scrap some of those, later on we'll remember more than this Christmas or that birthday. This book gets you thinking, and it helps you realize how grateful you are for some of the little things in your life.

Seriously. This book is awesome! It is my new favorite book, and believe me, I have pretty much EVERY book about scrapbooking (including all the DW books). You will love Nic's journaling and her ideas for getting inspiration from everyday life, but even more, her art will blow you away!

I have just started this wonderful hobby of scrapbooking, and this book has opened my eyes to all the possibilities out there. The typical things that one would think to scrap (weddings, birthdays, holidays and so forth) can limit our options. This book shows how real life is made up of everyday moments more than yearly events, and encourages you to record them: how your children are growing, things people say, things that you like (and dislike!), quirks and habits that you have... The artwork is wonderful. I've gotten a lot of ideas from Nic's layouts. I absolutely recommend this book if you need a boost of inspiration, if you've ran out of ideas, or just if you (like me) love to flip through books and delight your eyes with beautiful layouts.

This book is not for keen photographers, all's about memories: recognising and preserving them. It is making the snapshots that last. And so much more, because it's not all about pictures, there's a world of paraphernalia out there, and if it isn't there, create it youself. It's a book that makes you want to make things happen just to be able to make a scrapbook-page of it. Tons of inspiration, hours of work to make it also. Not all things are as simple as snapping a picture, words that go with it are important too and the way you present it. For album-makers this is heaven, for serious photographers there few to learn, besides this point that is stressed over and over: catch the emotion !

Wow, what can I say!! It's made me think! It's making me change the way I view my life, our life. It's a life-changing book. I'm looking at the everyday with different eyes. I'm going to scrap the good............the bad............and the ugly!! Thank you, Nic. Thank you so much for opening my eyes to the wonders that do occur in our everyday. The little things that we take for granted and don't realise how precious they are until they are gone.
This is THE best book you will ever purchase!!!!

A little distracted,

This is a great find. I must say that if you enjoy scrapping and a have a love for circles in your layouts, then this would be awesome to add to your collection. I did notice that a lot of the layouts were of the same people. This really shouldn't matter, but I found it to be a little distracting from the whole purpose of the book. I did find new techniques to add to my list to try. You wouldn't be wasting your money if you bought this book.

A Different Perspective,

Really nice to have a book focus on other than event pages. I have evolved from just scrapbooking birthdays and Christmas, and it's nice to see that there are idea books out there that have, too. Great job, Nic!

I thought many of the layouts were definitely different. There is a picture of the TV remote and journaling to tell about it. There is a page with a picture of a brown banana (no people), and tells about it. There is a picture of the clothes hanging on the line. I guess it is a way to preserve memories. Kind of like keeping a memory journal with some journaling and decor. Kind of busy looking pages. Wasn't quite what I expected, but as long as you realize what you are getting, you might like it.
