Son loves it!,
This review is from: That's Not My Monster (Usborne Touchy Feely) (Board book)
My son is 5 months old. We have been reading him this book for about 2 months now- and he loves it! He will feel each page and will sit through the entire book. Great for textile exploration! Really cute!

We love our monsters,
This review is from: That's Not My Monster (Usborne Touchy Feely) (Board book)
We have 4 other titles in this series and this is one of the favorites. I bought monsters hoping my child wouldn't become afraid of monsters under his bed--a mother can hope. Some of the texture areas are small, but all cute and all different.

Similar to the other books in this series, the pages are very vibrant with a variety of textures for our 10 month old son to enjoy (lick, scratch, pull, etc...) Although some textures do repeat themselves across the series, he can't seem to get enough. We take the books with us on trips and other friends' children (toddlers) love the books as well. We highly recommend owning at least one in the series (or like us, the whole set--spread the love and wear&tear!)

I got this book for my 15 month old son for Christmas who loves touchy-feely books. He absolutely loves 'That's Not My Monster', and will pick this book out himself to look through on his own. My husband and I also read this book to him several times in one sitting while he flips the pages on his own, and is eager to touch the next monster.
The monsters in this book are: - eyebrows that are too hairy - spikes that are too fuzzy - paws that are too bumpy (my personal favorite) - horns that are too rough - ears that are fluffy The touchy-feely material is a pretty good sized and where there are smaller sections of touch material, those pages do contain multiple little panels of the same material to touch on the monster, such as on the 'rough horns' monster--it has four little panels instead of two large panels of touch material. Overall I am generally pleased with this book. The illustrations are cute and very colorful, and while the story isn't very long, it's a nice addition to my son's growing library.

My 8 month old son loves this book. It's his favorite right now, he loves the different textures on each page, the bright colors, and he smiles at every page. It is short and sweet and keeps a baby's attention. It was the first book he really seemed to enjoy. The pages are well made and durable and good for biting on too!

Despite the use of certain adjectives that are not particularly helpful 'bobbly nose for example'... what is bobbly? This book is a gem. Each page has brilliant simple color drawings that capture children's attention and tactile places sometimes on both pages to feel. My kids are particular fans of the Bobbly nose and Bumpy paws. Hopefully when they're older they won't be as afraid of monsters because they befriended these at such a young age.
Our kids are 13 month old now.. but they've watched this book since about 6 months and started touching as soon as they could. Now they know exactly where the touching spots are on each page and have started noticing the little mouse too. This book holds up well if you read it under supervision, but when we left this book in the 'pen' with triplets slober disentegrated some parts of it. It still works well the board book is pretty sturdy we just have a few places of the glossy finish that were ruined nothing dangerous came off or anything like that.

I got this for my 8 month old son for Christmas as his first touchy-feely book. It's too cute! I'm gonna have to get another one from the line. Love it!

It's very simple. A little mouse runs around trying to find his monster, each monster is wrong for some touchy-feely reason.
Very striking, simple pictures, very easy text for little babies and toddlers. Any child is capable of sitting through this one! I do find that two of the pages stick together, probably because of the texture used on the paws ("bumpy"), and I am continually disappointed that the rough horns aren't very. But overall, it's a great book in a great series.

These books are such a hit with my son who is now 3 and still loves them. In fact I have just recently bought more of them. We started with That's Not My Car.. and it seems have started an addiction. They are great fun and we take turns picking out which car (monster, puppy, train..etc) we like best. We also look for the mouse on each page. I think these are some of the best toddler books out there and would recommend them highly.

I had purchased this book and three others (Penguin, Pirate and Puppy) for my oldest son when he was a baby. He LOVED them. He played with them and read them with me until they fell apart...literally. This was by far his favorite out of the group, though! So, now that I have a 5 month old, I've repurchased this book so that "Santa" can bring him a new favorite to read! I also recommend ALL of the Llama Llama books and Curious George. All of those are obsessions in this house!
