Darling Book !,
By A Customer
This review is from: That's Not My Bunny (Usborne Touchy-Feely Board Books) (Board book)
I bought this book for my daughter for her 1st Easter when she was almost 11 months old. She loves to rub her fingers over the parts of the bunny as I read and will turn the pages when she's done. This is her favorite book to read before bedtime and usually takes it to bed! It's a very cute book and this one and the others in the series are sure to be every baby's favorite!

This review is from: That's Not My Bunny (Usborne Touchy-Feely Board Books) (Board book)
Our twin babies are enjoying these "That's Not My..." books. These are more engaging than some of the other touchy-feely books we've got. Some books put materials in the pages for the babies to touch, just for the sake of having them there - and the words don't seem to "match up" with the thing we're feeling, or they are so stretched for material that it barely makes sense what we're feeling. Many of the "touchy-feely" books simply lack story content. That's not true of these Usborne touchy-feelies. The text is simple and makes sense to toddlers, and gives them a wider vocabulary of adjectives -- especially "tactile" words, like "fuzzy," "fluffy," "shiny," "hairy," and even (in "That's Not My Teddy"), "squashy!"
For bigger babies (my babies are just one year old), it's neat to notice a cute little mouse who shows up on every page. That's one thing I love about Usborne baby books - even when the babies are tired of looking at the main story, there's always the cute little mouse to notice and talk about!

We started our collection with 'not my Kitty' and 'not my puppy', we added 'not my bunny' at Christmas time, my 18 month old LOVES these books, she brings them to us to read to her and will also sit and 'read' them solo, we've invested in 6 more. Another great book, not by the same author is 'Tails'.

This review is from: That's Not My Bunny: Its Tail Is Too Fluffy (Usborne Touchy Feely) (Hardcover)
Overall, these books are great first books for babies. My daughter is 10 months old and loves them. (Her brother is a little over two years old and he likes them too.) The pages are easy for her to turn and she'll pull these books off the shelf and turn the pages all by herself. The illustrations are bright and hold her attention and she like to explore the textures. The books are well made for touch and feel style books and seem to be holding up well. There are six sentences per book. The cover is the beginning of the book and there are five additional two-page spreads. This book has a fluffy tail, rough paws, woolly tail, shiny eyes, wrinkled nose, and soft ears. I do wish there weren't two sentences about tails in this one, and I find the shiny eyes unimpressive because they don't feel or look significantly different from the rest of the page. That's the only reason this isn't a five star book.

Great book for your little one, allows you child to interact feeling all the different textures on the pages. Made of sturdy binding, they withstand the rough play of children. My child really enjoys this series of brightly colored, easy to read books.

We love this book, but beware the shiny eyes!,

This review is from: That's Not My Bunny (Touchy Feely) (Hardcover)
Our baby loves this book and it's her favorite board book to look at. However, when she was looking at the page with the shiny eyes by herself while I was doing something else in the room, I found her with black marks all over her fingers and tongue. I figured out the black was from the "shiny eyes"! She must have licked / drooled on the eyes, then stuck her fingers in it. The eyes are like those cheap watercolor paints, so you get a little pot of black paint there for your baby to stick her fingers in... Other than this major flaw, we love the book and still read it with her, but she's not allowed to feel the shiny eyes anymore.

Very cute! Both my 3 year old and my baby love the Usborne "That's not my" series. This book is so cute! The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is I would have liked one more page of a fluffier type of touch, but overall I love it and so do they!

We have several of the books in this series, and this is our least favorite by far. All of them are sturdy (crayon wipes off pretty well!), with cute illustrations of the title animal and the little mouse who is searching for his friend. Each page has a statement of "That's not my bunny, its (fur/tail/tongue) is too (something, like crinkly, fuzzy, etc)." They all have six textures -- five two-page spreads with one texture each, plus one on the cover. Usually the textured areas are pretty good sized so that small figures can easily feel them. The main problem with this book is that two out of the six textures are very lame, while for most of the other books in the series, all six are pretty good.
The textures in this book are fluffy tail (soft fur), rough paws (sandpaper), woolly tail (grey woolly fur), shiny eyes (matte black with no touching texture and not even shiny), wrinkly nose (a smooth pink, no texture at all, definitely no wrinkles!), and soft ears (shorter fur). In addition to the two pages of "non" texture, three of the remaining ones are just different lengths of fur, not very creative. Our favorites in the series are the dragon, monkey and robot, all of which have better textures than this one. If you have a baby or toddler, you should definitely get some of the books in this series, but I wouldn't suggest this one.

Precious children's books - a family favorite!,

Our family loves reading books. The "That's not my..." books are a wonderful touch and feel that are fun for children to read. My toddler carried the bear book around with him since he received it at a year of age. By two, he would recite it daily. At three, it's still one of his go to books for fun and now he reads it to his little sister. I purchased the bunny book for my daughter since my son enjoyed his so much. She is only eight months old so she doesn't fully appreciate the book yet. However, the book captures her attention and she loves the bright colors and looking at the pictures. A must buy for children!

I purchased this book as a gift after someone had given my daughter the "That's Not My Dragon" version. It was absolutely one of her favorite books as a baby and as a toddler (15 mo. old) she loves to read it over and over. Every page has a touch and feel piece to it. It's neat to watch your child progress and understand where the touch & feel piece is on the page and gravitate to them on their own. There's also a cute little mouse tucked away on each page and although she doesn't get it yet, as she gets older I think this will bring a new element of "where's the mouse" in addition to the touch and feel part. These books are great-kids love them and they make nice gifts.
