5.0 out of 5 stars My one-year-old's favorite!
This board book is cute, durable and has lots of nifty textures for babies to feel. My daughter can't be trusted alone with Pat the Bunny because she still loves the sound of ripping paper -- :-) -- but she knows how to turn the hefty pages and feel the generously-sized textures in this book all by herself. Plus, the words are cute, the cartoons are well-drawn, and it's...

2.0 out of 5 stars That is absolutely NOT MY Funnel !
Fiona my son has had this book for a little over a year now. He currently is 27 months and HE KNOWS that the smoke stack, exhaust stack is NOT a funnel. He may know that because we farm and he knows almost every part of a tractor, but for future printed illustrations, you may want to think about changing that word. A funnel is used for adding oil and liquids etc...

I plan on buying the rest of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great board book, April 7, 2003

This has been one of my 14-month-old's favorites since he got it for his birthday. The pages are hefty and easy to turn, very durable, and the bright colors and range of textures is great- he especially likes the rough trailer and the scratchy seat. He brings it to me to read to him over and over, and flips back and forth through the pages himself. It is holding up well, both physically and in keeping him interested.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, rough-textured addition to series, February 8, 2011
I got this book for my 9-month old who loves touch-and-feel books and already has three from this series. While the topic didn't immediately appeal to me (and I didn't know if tractors would appeal to a baby girl), this is one of our favorites from the series. My daughter much prefers scratchy and rough textures to furry, soft textures, and this book has more of those than, say, That's Not My Puppy, which is mostly fur. This is probably our second favorite after That's Not My Lion, but you really can't go wrong with this series for young ones who like the touch-and-feel books. Side note: the Matthew van Fleet series (especially Alphabet) is another good choice for babies at this stage.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hit, September 23, 2009

I got this for my 2 year old son along with That's not my Dinosaur. This one is his favorite of the two, probably because there's a bit more to the pictures and the mouse is doing stuff rather then just being there. The "it's. . . is too" words are mostly the same for both books. (bumpy, squashy, and rough) My son loves the book though and he had started to get out of reading a little bit so I'm glad this book could bring him back into it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great tractor book, May 30, 2007
My son loves tractors! This one is great because the tractor pitures are very big and the book itself is short and sweet! (the way I like them!)

excellent book for infants or toddlers, they seem to love it, and want it read over and over and over and over and over
having to write 20 words is stupid

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my Favorite in the Series, September 14, 2011

I've checked out every single one of the books in this series from the library. I wanted to buy a few of these books, but there's so many repeat textures, I wanted some with good variety. I ended up buying this one and 2 others (That's not my Penguin and That's not my Dinosaur). There are a few repeats, but I don't really mind. I also almost bought That's not my Monkey.
That's not my Tractor has these textures: engine too bumpy, trailer too rough, funnel too smooth, wheels too squashy, seat too scratchy, and headlights so shiny. The shiny headlights look like yellow glitter, so they are definitely shiny.
These books are super cute and very thick and durable. I've also looked at the touch and feel books by D.K. publishing (Farm, Wild Animals, Baby Animals) and they are definitely not as sturdy as these books. And I love the drawings and the that's not my... concept better too. Great books!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Cute!, July 20, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My husband loves tractors, and I got this book for him to read with our son. It is super cute and each page has a different texture for baby to feel. My husband complained because on one page the "exhaust pipe" is referred to as a "funnel." So it's not completely technically accurate. haha But it's a cute book. Also a hit in my house is that the tractor that DOES end up being his tractor is RED. :) If it's not red, keep it in the shed.
