Almost no surprises...,

The music on this album is closer to pop/fusion formula typical of late 80s/early 90s than anything else. Almost no surprises except for few ideas on closing tracks. I would be more pleased to hear more unconventional playing and composing from a great electric bass player. Though this is good music to hear live I cannot really say the CD is worth buying as a vintage item.

"THAT'S RIGHT!" It's Victor,

I've Been following Mr. Bailey ever since his first solo release "Bottoms Up," and he hasn't disappointed me yet.Victor's new release "That's Right" contains a few tunes that are stretched too thin with repetition, but for the most part, The album (opps! I mean cd...showing my age!)contains the usual virtuoso musicianship always prevalent on Victor's recordings. Bailey continues to follow the standard set by one of his idols, Jaco Pastorious, with his powerfully understated playing, not choosing to bang you over the head with heavy-handed solos that overwhelm the listener.

SUPREME MUSICIAN,

Victor Bailey is one of the most complete musicians on the planet and this is a burning disk with his great playing and writing. Can't wait for a new effort from him. Watch the Zawinul Sindicate Korg video to further understand Where's Paco ?

In all honesty. I don't have the disc yet. I do want to say though that, based upon the work that has been done in the past I consider this item a "must have". I'v been listening to Victor for years. From the work with Joe Zawinul, Lenny White, Bill Evans(sax) and other various musical products. I look forward to his music and the columns in the various music magazines. This player is an inspiration to all musicians.
