A Kid's Review
This review is from: That's So Gay (Audio CD)
'That's So Gay"is probably the finest effort from Pansy Division ever.As a fan ofthe band forever,I've seen many incarnation's both musically and personel wise. But this particular 2009 P.D. has put forth a disc with true homocore sound's that really deserve a listen to by lover's of simply great music,no matter what your sexual preference may be.

5.0 out of 5 stars STRONG album a long time coming, May 1, 2009

This album is musically solid and has the in-your-face lyrics that we've come to know and love from these guys. The songs are truly up there with the best of the big acts, great to listen to (and sing to yourself in the shower).

The sound quality is also outstanding, it was a nice surprise and much appreciated.

I might have expected that after all these years they might have lost the passion, but hearing this I seriously believe that their best work is yet to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars The gay lords of this world, December 28, 2010
This review is from: That's So Gay (Audio CD)
The songs are rather short, all of them and explicit in words. But they are funny. These gay singers and musicians do have a sense of humor. You do not need to be a dirty young man, nor a dirty old man to appreciate the song entitled "Dirty young man". In fact what is considered as dirty in this song is quite banal and ordinary, at least for gay partners. And that's good in a way because the dirty young man is full of energy and he takes over and makes you enjoy being a deeply plowed field somewhere in Texas, or is it rather Sussex? You can often appreciate the twinkling little star of one of their song without sharing their sky-high beds. But you can also just be a voyeur, which is indispensible in our world not to die deprived of any knowledge about bees and other ferns, or without being able to smile when a hint is dropped at your feet. After all some of your best friends might be black or gay and since you are no racist there is no reason for you to be sexist. So you will enjoy riding your horsey on some wooden horse or on the knees of your sugar daddy. Or maybe you might prefer being the wooden horse or the sugar daddy. One way or the other, even alternating the ways, you will end up between the silk sheets of that stable. The music is very standard and dynamic English rock with no particular orientation, except being dynamic. But the words are definitely heavily laden with explicit sexual meaning. Abstain if you are allergic to gayness or gaiety.

I ask this because the ending of the last song, "Life Lovers", is a haunting final chord. I think this is Pansy Division's best because they, like me, have aged and become both retrospective and wise as a result. Ever since "Deflowered" I eagerly awaited their next release. If this is their last, au revoir to the best gay band ever. Good night.
