FINALLY, a label does a dance collection almost right,

This review is from: NOW That's What I Call Club Hits (Audio CD)
The beauty of this disc is that the NOW series gives us a load of dance remixes of hugely popular songs not available on CD other than as part of continuous mix CDs by Ultra and Thrive, even though, if you listen to this CD through, you'll notice that one song begins just as soon as the other ends, with no silent space between songs. This is the kind of treatment dance collectors who still want their music on hard copy have been waiting for. The only down side is that they've used all the radio edits. But I'll take it for now since there are no other compilations out there giving us access to these mixes as individual tracks.
The other thing to note is that many of these club mixes are simply not as good as the original versions. Dave Aude's mix of Sean Kingston, for instance, is boring and takes all the energy out of the track, and I usually love Aude's mixes. The Calvin Harris remix of Katy Perry is also a disappointment, because there is a much better mix of the song that retains the actual attitude of the track--this one is kind of light and bouncy. Let it Rock is simply a perfect dance song on its own, so this electro remix doesn't make much of an impact. Some mixes are too epic to be contained in the less than 4 minute versions, such as the mixes of Lady GaGa and Kelly Clarkson. But you so get nearly 6 minutes of the remix of The Killers' Spaceman. Now THAT'S what I call club hits. The disc ends with several less commercial tracks that could easily have been left off this mainstream mix to make room for longer versions of some of the hits. And the disc closes with an unnecessary remix of a Jackson 5 classic, obviously in honor of Michael's passing. Still rather hear the original version. Track times: 1. boom boom (3:59) 2. fire burning (4:03) 3. right round (3:22) 4. I know you want me (2:57) 5. when love takes over (3:04) 6. day n nite (2:42) 7. knock you down (4:27) 8. love sex magic (3:20) 9. blame it (4;14) 10. love game (3:27) 11. my life would suck without you (3:36) 12. please don't leave me (3:41) 13. waking up in vegas (3:39) 14. spaceman (5:55) 15. let it rock (3:48) 16. falling anthem (4:22) 17. walking on a dream (4:33) 18. wrong (5:00) 19. dancing machine (3:14)

I got this CD with the hope that by making me want to move, it would be good music to use as I started the Couch to 5K Program. I was so right! I LOVE this CD. Not only makes me want to move, makes me want to move FAST. I have recommended it to many others.

Ehh,
This review is from: NOW That's What I Call Club Hits (Audio CD)
I have to say I'm pretty dissapointed with this Now CD! I was hoping for all the songs to have something unique about the remixes but all of the songs had the same beat! "Please Don't Leave Me" by P!nk and "Knock You Down" by Keri Hilson are the best songs on the CD. Don't get me wrong I do reccomend this CD... Now's are still the bect CD's ever made!

CLUB HITS? MORE LIKE NOW 31 REMIXED!,

Why is every song on here already on Now 31 just remixed? I liked this CD while the songs were current, but now it's just old news. I kept Now 31 and got rid of this one. Why didn't they put club hits on here that would be from a broad range of time? Not just from Now 31? The beats were good though, so that's my only complaint.

other than #2 Fire Burning and #4 Pitbull's I know you want me (and Right round #3, to some extent #1 Boom Boom Guetta), the CD is not something you want to listen when you drive. Instead, get drunk, sit in a cabin and listen to them - That would feel great... Overall, Club hits as the name goes, it lives up to it. Enough said, I guess! :)
