The recipes are all FABULOUS and fool proof. Very easy to create an entire menu from each chapter! Her first book, Discover Brunch and third, Food For Friends, are equally as WONDERFUL. Highly recommend for everyone's cookbook shelf. I'm on my second version of the first books; the first ones wore out from too much use! As Ruth says, " Happy Entertaining" !

Have had this recipe book since it was first published. Even signed by Ruth Macpherson. Mine is completely falling apart. Ordering another one for myself and 4 more as Christmas gifts. As the reviewer before me said, the best part is that the menus are right there from start to finish and they compliment one another. Another huge plus is that the recipes are followed by asterisks that tell you which ones can be done ahead and which ones can even be frozen.
A fantastic book. I couldn't do without it. I also have her book entitled, "Food For Friends" which is also great!
So happy that they are not out of print!

I worked as a chef for a private caterer for many years in the 80's that recommended this book. I still have it, especially love the cheesecake squares and the spinach squares for entertaining in my home. This Author, Ruth Macpherson knew what she was doing, writing and selling this book.

That's Entertaining is an EXCELLENT cookbook! I've worn it out over twenty years, and it is always a source for my best cooking efforts. Ruth gives helpful hints on the recipes for making ahead, freezing or more servings for large parties. I bought this book for my friend who was envious of all the good recipes I've made from this excellent cookbook.
