I've been hoping for years that Pastor Carter Conlon would write a book and he finally has. I read the preview online and can't wait for my copy to arrive in the next couple of days. I agree with his comparison of the church in Corinth to where we are at in society today. He preached a great sermon series on this a few years back called the Corinthian Problem which was truly outstanding and I look forward to reading how God has spoken to him furhter in the last couple years since he preached that. Pastor Carter is a Godly man I have probably listened to over 400 sermons of his in the last decade and I truly believe he is a prophetic voice that God will use mightily in the coming days. If you are unfamiliar with Pastor Carter or the ministry of Times Square Church I encourage you go to on their web site and learn more about them. They have blessed my wife and myself mightily over the years.

It's been a LONG time since i read a book in its entirety. i received my copy mid-January and finished it tonight; if it weren't because my husband and i were taking turns reading it to each other and talking about what we had just read, i would have finished it in a couple of days. The reason i mention this is because...........it's a GREAT book, one that we couldn't wait to get into, one we couldn't just read and not share our thoughts on.
It is full of spiritual insight into the doctrinal errors of our generation, exhortation to "come out from among" those churches that have lost the sight of what REAL Christianity is (giving our life away for the sake of others, just like Jesus Christ did) and encouragement to not give up, to finish the race set before us.
Many thanks to Pastor Carter Conlon for writing this book, it reflects his unapologetic defense of the TRUTH of the Bible. As i stated in the title of this review....if you want to stay the same, don't read this book....but if you want to return to what you were called to be, purchase it, read it with highlighter in hand, and get ready for an awesome journey!

this book made me cry the entire way through. I realized that I had only gotten part way through this journey. I had failed in so many ways, the God of my life. Yes, my life Was my God. I was so ashamed and humbled by everything I read. I recommend this to anyone who is wondering if this is All there is. There is so much more for me and also for you. This man showed me a Christ I only partly knew. After 40 years of being a Christian, I have been broken down and now I know this is only the tip of what He has for us. Read this book. You will be driven to your knees and broken if you stay. Some will not be able to read this mans writing. It is very hard to read. I am so glad I found this. If you want to walk in the Light, you cannot create a god in your own image. This is one of the things I found. I am so glad I did. Karen Jennings

Carter Conlon uses the Corinthian church as a basis by which parallels can be drawn to the present day church. Our church today, like at Corinth, has lost sight of the path of God's calling and became powerless without vision. "We are living in a Corinthian moment and it is imperative that we seriously reconsider what it means to be a part of the church of Jesus Christ in these last days.". Learn the detailed deadly spiral of this church and avoid the loss of calling they experienced. The Corinthian church was willing to embrace the cross as the answer to their personal need for salvation, yet unwilling to embrace the call to follow Christ as Lord. This sin of being self-centered, Conlon believes, will always be accompanied by an indifference to the struggle of others.
Don't allow the power and blessing you will read in his account of Samson to be diminished by using God's anointing for yourself. "In attempts to take away this separation to God, Satan will always send a form of seductive and enticing religion.". If you are a Pastor, a warning to let that not pervade in your church!
Learn of the great storm that is about to break out over the world in which those that rejected the Gospel will run for answers. He will need people who possess His heart to share with fallen humanity.
The title of this book is well fitting and a clarion call for us to turn around our ways to God, reaching His people with His heart of compassion while seeking His will, His way. Leaders, this book is a necessary addition for today!

I have been listening to Carter Conlon for over 4 years and was very excited to see that he was writing a book. I bought 2 copies and have read my own copy 3 times, and passed around the additional copy. The book is honest and at the same time challenging in a very deep and awakening manner. Thank you for writing a book that the whole body of Christ needs to embrace. A must read for every one that gives confession to follow Christ.
