Great service by the shipper. The book was not what I expected in some ways: it is as the title suggests, a scrapbook - collage style - of cover art, illustrations, images. There is little in the way of comment or text except to briefly describe the categories by which the art is separated - this is really an artbook. That said, it is also an archival feast for the eyes, with each collage-type page featuring dozens of illustrations, photos, advertisements, etc. crammed in. For those who pay ten dollars plus for a single illustration taken out of a dismembered magazine, a single page here is worth more than that investment. I only wish it were much thicker but then again - it is a sumptous art-book meant to capture the essence of the times.

As a lifelong Anglophile, I own just about all the books in this wonderful scrapbook series, from the Victorian era to the '50s (which is the last decade of any interest to me). The pages are filled with -- crowded with -- precisely the sort of popular-cultural memorabilia that best give you the flavor of the time and place. The color reproductions are beautiful, and I can't believe the books in this series don't cost two to three times what they sell for.
