One of best albums I heard in a while.

I knew from the first few songs into the album that this would be an album that would be on heavy rotation for a long time.

They have a really fantastic sound they've created & this album showcases that very well.

I just discovered these guys, bought their album, and listened to it twice from start to finish. It's excellent. Very hard to describe their music, but I will say it is clever and sophisticated. the vocals are very cool, lyrics are great, and the guitar work is non-standard and catchy.

I very much recommend them.

If you see their picture, they look like punk rockers. Weird hair, leather jackets etc. But their music is poppy and catchy. The kind of songs that get stuck in your head for days.

This is the perfect kind of summer album. The music goes from energetic to thoughtful to sexy and then back again. It's rare that a young, hyped up band puts this much thought into an album. But this is an album. Not a few good singles and a bunch of filler.

The sound is unique and somewhat hard to describe. It's poppy, but where most bands these days would fill in musical space with synth, they use guitars. They are four guys who play instruments and play them well. This is made clear in the recording, which is impressive.

All in all, it's an album worth getting and a band worth watching.

Edit 11/05/2013

I saw The 1975 perform live last week at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, Oregon, and I am happy to report that this band is the real deal. They create sonic landscapes that remind me of Sigur Ros while referencing Michael Jackson, Peter Gabriel, and Phil Collins. Interesting territory for a band in their twenties. Unlike many bands, The 1975 are all about creating solid music. It is apparent not only in the songs they write, but how they perform them. Great attention is given to the sound and feel.

I checked their website and saw that they will be playing multiple sold out night at the same venues in the UK. The place I saw them holds 300 people max. It makes you wonder what the UK knows that we don't.

When Matt Healy says that the lyrics of this album is very 'Brat Pack" inspired, you can hear that it's 'Brat Pack' inspired. Every song triggers something in you- dance, weep, go out on endless adventures- and it keeps you on the replay.

This is one of those albums with too many catchy songs. It may not be the most diverse musical experience you've ever heard, but the delightful neo-80s pop-rock sounds will have you bobbing your head, snapping your fingers and moving your feet. I will say that the lyrics are a bit difficult to make out, since the lead singer has a strong, British accent, but it simply adds to their flavor and the lyrics booklet can help you out. All in all, a guilty pleasure of a band that you won't regret feeling guilty about.

I generally listen to the same stuff I did 10 years ago because although catchy, a lot of what is out there today doesn't ever really 'catch' me. That's what this band did. I was listening to a Google Music random station and I heard something I liked so I looked and it was this band. I thumbs upped it and moved on. A little later I heard Robbers and had to stop everything I was doing to listen because it completely caught me :) Their sound is like an 80's movie soundtrack with a new spin. The whole album is awesome and I can't wait to hear their next one. I've watched a few videos and interviews on YouTube of them and the lead singer seems to have a really good sense of himself and the band and what they want. I was thoroughly impressed :)

Definitely one of the best upcoming bands around! They mix every type of genre and make it so unique. I'm so glad I got it on vinyl, the sound is amazing! I received it earlier than than expected delivery date, which made it all the better. If you're looking for new bands though, The 1975 is definitely the best.

This record arrived brand new... but extremely scratched. The b-side of the second record skips and does not play correctly unless you put a small object on top of it to weigh it down. Honestly, I am so disappointed. I gave this to my best friend for her birthday and it was damaged; pretty embarrassing.
