Revolutionary. I truly couldn't put this book down. Wendy is so fun to read, and so empowering!

She speaks TRUTH frankly, and gives credence to our deeper knowledge & intuition in a way that allows us to break from the cheap cultural lies that are ultimately destructive. She shares truly brilliant strategies for finding the love and companion of our lives.

It kind-of reminds me of the book, "He's Just Not that Into You," except that it goes much further in explaining WHY, and more importantly, how to FIND and CATCH a worthy man who IS into you.

Dr. Wendy Walsh is intelligent and she has good judgement. The 30 Day Love Detox is well written and is the start of a movement. It is always important for people to never make decisions in haste but to make diligent decisions. Dr. Wendy Walsh gives readers the tools to succeed and like the popular song You Can't Hurry LOVE! Dr. Wendy Walsh is a modern feminist who sincerely cares about young women and has all the secrets and inside ways to finding MR RIGHT! Way to go Dr. Wendy you have superb timing. Two thumbs up! I bought this book not because I need a detox from bad men, but because I saw Wendy on a talk show and I wanted to hear more about the statistics she was reciting for what I call the new state of the world in love.

She addresses very specifically how the feminist movement has changed the roles of men and women in the world, and cites statistics that demonstrate what I also thought about men of the last decade. They seem to be lost on how to be men, and this is the fault of women. Women are simply giving men sex without no commitment let alone even a date or relationship.

I agree with Wendy in my book about being "old school" with men, in that delaying a sexual relationship is the only way to determine a man's interest in you. It's not playing games, it's eliminating the players. The right man will earn you and be in love with you from earning you. It's actually his innate desire.

This book clearly demonstrates HOW to do this. It's basically just like the Nike saying, "Just Do It", in that you simply must stop feeding your emotional needs with bad men. Once you become aware, you must heed to the red flags as soon as they surface and trust your gut when it's time to move on from someone. Become an emotionally healthy woman and stop attracting these types of men and feeding yours and his insecurities.

Specifically I loved page 219 which states that "If you're a woman who's educated, well traveled, open minded, and physically attractive, you're the least likely to be married, divorce free, and a mother.

The author makes the argument that modern women have inherited the ability to choose a mate well from their ancestral grandmothers and that the DNA of that hunter-gatherer ancestor lives in each woman and therefore has the capacity to operate for every woman. If you buy that concept you will find value in this book. If you think that's a ridiculous argument you'l find the entire book to be a stretch. Her goal is commendable but you'd be better off reading books that deal with the essential nature of personal character and morality.

I just heard Dr. Walsh speak on her book and her revolutionary theory of not just how to get the right man/mate but also how to sustain intimacy for the long haul. Her idea of waiting to have sex, and supporting that viewpoint from a evolution perspective, as opposed to the much heard fundamentalist stance was incredibly interesting and intelligent.

A definite TWO thumbs up for THE 30-DAY LOVE DETOX!

Surely, the readers will appreciate the irony of getting expert advice on getting men committed from someone who hasn't been able to do it herself. Dr. Walsh is a single mother, as she admits in the book. She a gorgeous unmarried Canadian living in LA who teaches women that by denying intimacy and affection until the very end; not giving out phone numbers to men; and by letting guys dangling in the wind you could improve your chances. I find the book puzzling, her attitude Victorian, and her advice simply wrong. In love you must trust your instincts, not experts. Moreover, denying romantic intimacy could make you a control freak with a lot of pent-up anger - just like the character played by Kirstin Dunst in the recent movie "Bachelorette". Avoid the book, watch that movie instead.
