Book Description

Why does our company repeatedly hire people who just don't work out? In my extensive experience hiring hundreds of employees, I have learned that great employees possess near perfection in each of what I call the "Seven C's." These key traits include competency, capability, compatibility, commitment, character, culture and compensation.

In this book, I address each of the “C’s” as a useful evaluation tool to help an employer determine if the candidates being interviewed possess these outstanding qualities and will be a perfect match as an employee. Experience shows that when you hire a person who meets every characteristic, at the highest level, the odds are strong of that person staying with a company, and being happy and highly productive for a very long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable Counsel from One Who Knows Value! March 27, 2012

Approaching this book with the benefit of my own long, and arguably successful career in business (most recently as the CFO of a global corporation), Hall's 7 C's represents a thorough and actionable hiring strategy, not just aphorisms wanting for substance.

Hall, of course, is a tremendously successful entrepreneur and start-up investor as well as a consummate marketer. His 40-year career lends credibility and depth to the book. Designed as an interactive text with video included, you get a real feel for the man by consuming this book (you don't just read it).

The best part of the book, however, is the specific, actionable guidance it provides. Executives will eat this up. You don't need to plow through 300 pages of academic falderal to find the nuggets. This little book is all gold nuggets, ready for immediate application to the everyday workplace.

I wish I'd had this book before I made some of my biggest hiring mistakes!

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Overview March 12, 2013

This book is a good general overview of how to identify valued employees. For me it did not explore enough the various nuances that one typically encounters in the hiring process.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well organized with video links October 10, 2012

Well organized with video links that help you visualize and think about the chapter. Gives you the opportunity to answer the questions ask from your own perspective. An eBook we will refer back to in the near future. In our own organization we need to rethink how we are doing hiring.
