About the Author

Robert J. Hutchinson is the former managing editor of Hawaii magazine, and has written sports, science, gambling, and travel articles for numerous publications. He lives in southern California with his wife, Glenn Ellen, also a writer, and their three sons, Robert John, James, and Kelly.

More About the Author

Robert Hutchinson is an award-winning writer and author who studied philosophy as an undergraduate, moved to Israel to learn Hebrew, and earned an M.A. in New Testament from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena.

He has been a professional writer and columnist his entire life, working both for Christian publications, such as Christianity Today, and for secular magazines and newspapers.

Hutchinson's first paid article, in 1978, was about the children of the Hare Krishnas living in Seattle... and he has a lifelong interest in non-Christian religions. An avid traveler, he was once the managing editor of Hawaii Magazine and the Hawaii Bureau Chief for The Hollywood Reporter.

Hutchinson's book about the inner workings of the Vatican, When in Rome: A Journal of Life in Vatican City, was a Book of the Month Club and Quality Paperback Book Club Selection.

His most recent book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Bible, demonstrates how the ideas embedded in the ancient Biblical texts helped give rise to modern science, the development of democratic government, and the global recognition of human rights. Hutchinson travels frequently to Europe, where he gives writing seminars, and lives with his wife and five children in a small beach town on the west coast. He is currently working on a book about new discoveries in Historical Jesus research, due out from Thomas Nelson in 2015. He blogs regularly at www.RobertHutchinson.com.

This book is only for the novice, so I haven't got to far into it. I really don't recommend it.
