Zuri Baptiste is in trouble. She's lost her virginity to the man who is set to take over her father's business. How did such a thing happen? Years later she's forced to answer that question when she faces the smooth debonair stranger who's responsible for the only reckless thing Zuri has done in her life.

Christophe Montague is a very pragmatic man. But after a painful breakup he seeks comfort in the arms of a young woman to forget. It works. For the next few years he channels his energies toward monetary success not love. The Oasis, a now bankrupt resort on the island of Martinique. Christophe learns it's prime real-estate and does what he and his company does best--he buys it. To his surprise the island resort is the family business of the young woman from his one nightstand. Her fight to keep control of her company throws Christophe into a sexy web of lies, deceit and ultimately love under the island Sun in paradise.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as her other books December 11, 2011

I agree that the French was quite poor in this. But, I just didn't connect with the characters and frankly found myself so bored that I flipped through many pages. The heroine certainly loved playing the victim...

4.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Good! February 13, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I had just finished "Buttercup" (also a good story) when I decided to try this one. At first, the storyline followed a similar formula as 'Buttercup'. The heroine sleeps with the hero in a matter of hours after meeting him and then they don't see each other for a few years. During that period, both are celibate. They comeback together w/ her doing a sexy dance that makes the hero more aroused. I almost put it down but since I paid $6.99 I figured I had better at least finish. I am glad I did.
The author treats her audience to life on a tropical paradise. Her descriptions of local scenery are fascinating and beautiful. She makes you really imagine you are there. The locations she uses for Zuri and Christophe's lovemaking is truly arousing. This author is very good at erotic writing.
I also found the use of French periodically throught the book very enlightening and believeable to her storyline.
Except for a few editing and grammatical errors (that's why 4 instead of 5 stars), this is an excellent story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamy Romance! March 16, 2011
By danikat
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While the romance genre, and specifically the interracial romance genre, often seems to provide the same characters with the same story, this book is different. There is an actual story, a good one, that provides a catalyst for the coupling and romance for the main characters. Zuri is naive and Christophe is complex, like so many other romance characters, yet the story is entertaining enough that you don't get bored with them. Though I must admit, the premise for Zuri's machinations was a bit contrived and far fetched. But, when you think you know how this story is going to go, it goes the other way. The buildup to the real drama is good, though a bit prolonged, and the payoff in the end is sweet without being too predictable. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good romance with some drama on top!

2.0 out of 5 stars Eh... December 12, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm not going to beat a dead horse about the French lesson needed for this book so I'll move onto the odd verbs used and stiffness of the plot. Like the other reader, I was sort of bored and pretty much skimmed this.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lost Its Potential December 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I purchased this book because I was intrigued by the title and description. The cover is beautiful and now I can say without a doubt that a book can't be judged by it's cover. The storyline was decent and could have been very good had the author developed the story more effectively (which could have been done due to the length of the book). The sex, while hot, was unrealistic considering the heroine's past. Zuri was a 21 year old virgin when she first met Christophe. She was ashamed of having mastaurbated. They have sex once and then met again four years later. She hasn't slept with anyone else but somehow she makes the leap from extremely virginal to having anal sex during their second encounter. Maybe she became a closet porn watcher or something. I don't know. It just didn't fit in the story at that point in time. Christophe's cousin discovers their secret past (once again, I don't know how since only three people knew and no one likes him enough to tell him and they don't discuss it around him). The grammar and editing were bad. Not the worst but definitely not good. I don't know the editor's background, but she didn't do a lot of research about Chicago. I really wanted to like this book but unfortunately I didn't. I think the worst was that the title was so misleading. Nothing was done by accident and she wasn't even his mistress! Sad.

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutely amazing July 17, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
At first i was unsure about buying this book. I have never read anything from the author and wasn't sure what to expect, but she really blew me a away. this book was a real page turner. I really enjoy the scenic references; being a island girl myself. I enjoyed the characters and even though i dont speak french, the refences were really romantic and the dialogues were believable. I hope the author is working on a story for zuri's sister joi...i will be keeping an eye out....

I loved this story. My only complaint is that the ending felt rusted. I'll like to see a sequel with Joi! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good April 7, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
At first I scanned through the description of the island, but after a while I really got into the way the author told about the drive in the mountain when the were going to the spring. In fact, she was so good I could actually winced when the leaves slapped him in the face. I had hoped to find some good in Elliot, but after a while I just hoped the sister Joi would beat him up. I did enjoy the book, even with the typos, but had hoped the ending was more indepth.

More About the Author

Do you like strong, sensual, alpha bad boys forced to humble themselves for the women they love? Me too. I am Sienna Mynx, the naughty writer of over thirty contemporary and historical romances. My stories have often been accused of sweeping readers away in heart racing decadence that can provoke laughter, soft sighs and even gratifying tears.

In 2010 Romantic Times nominated me for Erotic Romance E-book Writer of the Year Award, for a fast-paced exciting read about a young black hooch dancer in a travelling carnival during the Great Depression who meets a Sicilian bootlegger and goes on a Bonnie and Clyde ride of passion and freedom in Mexico.

After a two-week tour of Italy in 2012 I released the first three books in an epic series known as The Battaglia Mafia. All three Books (Destino, Ti Amo, La Sposa) have held the Amazon #1 Best Seller spot for Multicultural Romance, and African American romance.

Currently you'll find me in the deep south under the shade of a magnolia tree with a ladies fan, sipping pink lemonade and dreaming up my next sensual romantic fantasy! To learn more about my work be sure to visit the website
