Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Gr 4-6-Multiple readers bring 67 New Testament stories to life in this fast-paced production. Events from Jesus's life in the four Gospels and the birth of Christianity in the Book of Acts through the Book of Revelation are told in chronological order with references to their Bible book and chapter number. People of faith need not be concerned about this rendering of the New Testament-the stories are factual. Mauss has created a dramatic telling using popular vocabulary, idioms, and some slang that help to hold the attention of listeners. The print version (David C. Cook, 2012) features bold illustrations by Sergio Cariello. This audio production can serve as an introduction to or synopsis for New Testament study.-Mary Lee Bulat, Harwinton Public Library, CTα(c) Copyright 2011. Customer Reviews

Highly recommend for youth and adults.

The description is misleading in saying that this is a "companion" to the Action Bible.
Candiless
I often find him reading it in his spare time, just for fun.

I love these stories, but just be aware that the stories in this New Testament version are already in The Action Bible.

I own the hard cover of the original Action Bible which includes both the old and new testaments. I was hoping this would provide additional comic stories to the new testament that the original Action Bible did not. Unfortunately, it's just the new testament section out of the original Action Bible. Buy the original Action Bible for better value.

If you have a reluctant reader in your life, this Bible will totally hook them. It tells Bible stories will vivid, compelling pictures that illustrate the truth of Gods' Word. It's safe for young eyes, and most importantly correct in its teachings. A great first introduction to what will hopefully be a life of Bible exploration. Not for Bible scholars, this one is for a novice reader who needs a starting point.

My husband and I bought this Bible for our son's 2nd birthday and we have all enjoyed reading it. The illustrations are beautiful, bringing to life the characters and settings. The stories are presented in chronological order, which helps all readers gain a better grasp of God's plan.

*The description is misleading in saying that this is a "companion" to the Action Bible. The Action Bible (which we also purchased) contains both the old and new testaments.*

I bought this for him for Christmas. He can't/won't put it down. That makes me a happy mama. I often find him reading it in his spare time, just for fun. He picks it up regularly. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to encourage reading and bridge the gap for a young man learning or struggling to read.

If you own the action bible that has both OT and NT, don't buy this. I thought this NT version would be more detailed version of NT stories, however, it is exact same copy of the NT in the complete action bible. My son was very disappointed.. I wish the product description did a better job explaining this. However, it's a still a grea bible! My son loves it and reads this over and over again so I am still giving it a 5 star.

I love the Action Bible! My favorite story book Bible. My kids (and others) have loved going through this. I think my son (7 at the time) read it cover to cover about 8 times in the first 2 months he got it.

But don't get just the NT version. Spend the extra few bucks and get the entire Action Bible.

We purchased this as a gift for our 8 year old son's birthday. He LOVES it! He transitioned from a children's bible to this and I think it was a perfect move. I was more than impressed with this. I thought it would be a paperback cause of the price but it is a hard book with EXCELLENT illustrations.
