The first three Movie Collection sets are all on Agatha Christie's Poirot - The Classic Collection, Vol. 2. Don't be fooled into buying duplicate DVDs.

I have seen so many of Suchets episodes and movies of Poirot, I can't review them all, but I would give them all five stars! I so enjoy his portrayal of the genius Belgian sleuth, Suchet is really perfect for the role. The stories are beautifully filmed and the actors are great. I hope they keep making them! I highly recommend these films and episodes to anyone who likes a cozy mystery with great actors and great scenery, enjoy!

I have always been a fan of the Hercule Poirot mysteries and was pleasantly surprised when I bought "Movie Collection" Set 4. I had not seen the episodes included on these discs and they were very well done and longer than most of the usual Poirot episodes: as advertised, they were "Movie" length. I went on to buy sets 1, 2 and 3 and upon opening sets 1 and 3 was disappointed to find the episodes are exactly the same as the original recordings (which I already owned). These collections are sold using a STRONG suggestion that they are substantively different from the original recordings. I mean, it's only logical to believe they would be. Otherwise, why would Acorn Media sell the collections under the new description of "Movie" length? Why, indeed?
If you own ANY of the original recordings of the Poirot episodes listed in the Movie Collections (with David Suchet), don't waste your money on these: they're the same.

Any POIROT set is just plain GOOD murder mystery. Agatha Christie suspense perfect. David Suchet acting excellence. Combined they make any British Mystery viewer salivate. Add top guest stars in each, SUBTITLES for the hearing and dialect challenged, and kick in some of the best filmed period mystery ever produced. It's what fans have come to expect with Poirot, Agatha Christie, Masterpiece Mystery, and the untouchable as Hercule Poirot--David Suchet.

The Blu-rays and new DVDs are newly remastered and restored to their original U.K. broadcast order. This is wonderful mystery TV, never to get out of date. You WILL love every feature-length episode.

1930s period costumes as accurate as the Art Deco sets. David Suchet begins his masterful role as Hercule Poirot with the supporting cast of associate Hastings (Hugh Fraser-`The Bretts'); CI Japp (Philip Jackson-`Robin of Sherwood'); and Sec. Lemon (Pauline Moran) as well as numerous episode guest stars.

1 THE ADVENTURE OF THE CLAPHAM COOK: Poirot's unimportant domestic case is searching for Todd's (Brigit Forsyth) cook Eliza (Freda Dowie-`The Brontes of Hayworth') gone lost. She's inherited and moved to near Carlisle, her trunk left at the station. Dermot Crawley's (`Bleak House') character may be involved.

Mon ami, I do not watch the television, and I do not watch the films of books which are already most excellent. For this series I make the exception. It is wonderful television, Suchet and Jackson are inspired as Poirot and Japp, and the costumes and settings are of the most magnificent. And to top it off, as the English say, Agatha Christie's mysteries are adapted with good taste and discretion.

Product is okay. I am disappoited to find the movies in this set are ones we already had in other collections.
Amazon needs to list the movies by title that are in a set.

David Suchet is the best Poirot ever. These are great videos and stories; however, Acorn Media really needs to start including closed captioning or subtitles. My wife, who is nearly totally deaf, likes the A&E versions because they include closed captioning. When we watch Acorn Media, I have to stop, explain what's going on and then continue on.
