Organ continues to advance the Stirling engine design process by writing clearly and in an easy to understand style while not skimping on the technical analysis and paying attention to the practical details required to actually build such engines. I have previously bought "The Regenerator and the Stirling Engine" and "Air Engines" by the same author and was equally satisfied with these books. My personal interest is in building a 500 watt Stirling engine.

This book has lots of great information, but I found the writing style a bit hard to read; the text comes across as having a long story arc, punctuated by intense mathematics and incredibly detailed analysis.

If you are a hard-core Stirling engine engineer, this book is for you. If you are a hobbyist, it may be over your head.

This is an excellent and authorative book on the mathematical simulation and resulting design conclusions of the Stirling Cycle engine or related air engines.
