I received the 2000 millennium version at Christmas 1999. I loved it, but after about eight years it stopped. The manufacturer offered me 50% off on a new one if I returned the original. Reluctantly, I returned the clock, and received a new one. The new Zen clock does not have a progressive chime and the clock is made with much cheaper material than the original---which was made in the U.S. The newer version is made in China. When I called to complain about the quality and the fact that it was made in China, I was told that the newer version was better and I lacked global consciousness by being concerned about buying products made in the U.S. What a bunch of bunk! It's clear to me that the owner was taking advantage of cheaper labor and materials by having them made in Beijing. I still have the clock but am very disappointed with my purchase.

We had our first Now & Zen digital alarm clock for less than a year when the LCD digits started failing. Now & Zen replaced it under warranty. Now, 18 months after that replacement unit no longer chimes. The best offer Now & Zen will make is to allow us to purchase a replacement for 50% off. You have got to be kidding me. N&Z, we paid $140 for what is likely $30 worth of parts. You know your stuff has quality problems. And the best you can do is to charge $70 for a replacement clock worth likely $30 in materials and labor? Sorry folks. Do you really care about the quality of your products? From the evidence this is a faulty item sold under the guise of consciousness aware products.

I've always hated the sound of my alarm clock. It's loud, sudden, and starts the day with my blood pressure bordering on panic. Then I got one of these Zen alarm clocks, and my mornings got a lot less unpleasant. I'm definitely not what you would call a morning person, but this clock sure takes the edge off of waking up. It's almost like I wake up on my own instead of having a loud siren blaring at the side of my bed. It's the first alarm clock that I haven't wanted to throw out when I accidentally set it on a weekend. Definitely a great buy if you want to wake up without the noise.

I loved my clock so much when I got it, I bought 3 others as gifts. It wasn't until after I bought all of them, that the trouble started. I bought a total of 4 clocks, and now, all 4 are broken. That is 100% defective in my book.... DO NOT BUY THESE CLOCKS.
I Bought all of the clocks about 3 years ago. Two directly from NOW and ZEN, the other two from another vender. The last clock just broke. I called NOW and ZEN and I was told they don't repair, but would replace the clocks for half price. They want me to send them $300.00 for the replacements. When they told me they do not repair the clocks, and I would have to pay for a replacement, I said that was not acceptable... they said that is all they are willing to do, and then they hung up on me...are you kidding me?
The first clock I bought was the ZEN TIMEPIECE for 200.00. Within 1 Year it started running fast. I contacted them and they said change the battery. I did. Nothing happened except the elements in the display started to burn out. Now, they are almost all burned out and the clock is barely readable. It still runs about 30 min fast a month. I also bought 3 of the ALARM CLOCKs as gifts around the same time for $125.00 each. One additional clock from NOW AND ZEN, and two others from another vender. Every one of them have since broken. Clock 1, the time of 1:43 burned into display, and clock will not run. Clock 2, alarm will not work, and it runs fast. Clock 3, Runs fast and alarm goes off even when not set.
I was able to find more current reviews on other review sites, and they all had the same problems I had with the clocks.

Instead of being awakened by the jarring siren sound of a traditional alarm clock, the Now and Zen clock ushers in your day with peace and tranquility. No longer will you have to grit your teeth because it feels like someone is driving an ambulance into your bed. The Now and Zen clock will send progressive chords of mellow sounds right into your soul. This is the clock whisperer, the welcome wagon, a pyramid of sunshine, a way to start the perfect day.
