'An excellent outline of the classical Marxist tradition' - Radical Philosophy

'Its outstanding characteristic is its exceptional lucidity - the way in which it deals with what are by any standards difficult theoretical issues without oversimplification but with superb clarity.' - Bookmarks

This book is less on dialectics and more on a history of dialectics within secondary Marxism. That is not to say that is is not helpful, but the topic of dialectics is lesser of a focus of the book.New students to dialectics should read this book, more advanced students of dialectics should go for Evald Ilyenkov.
