Absolutely love the nostalgic pictures, which were worth the price of the book. In regard to the recipes... I would try about 60%, other 40% did not suit my personal taste.

Well, there is so much to say about this book: bright and colorful and joyful, delightful and fun, chock full of recipes (one for each state in the Union) of desserts or main courses or appetizers, beautiful graphics of old holiday postcards, vintage photographs, really fun information on the state, history of the holiday season. The book design allows it to lay flat when reading, esp. good for a counter top when making the recipe. I took the book to my local library and for a modest donation, they covered the book jacket with library-grade clear plastic. Now I'll have it forever, which suits me just fine. If you love Christmas or know someone who does, this is the perfect gift.

If you love the traditions of the holidays and you enjoy cooking in the kitchen- this book is sure to become one of your favorites. It's a visual treat filled with vintage and retro illustrations and images of holidays of the past.
The state by state tour of unique receipes offers something for all tastes. From the very simple and basic to the gormet.
I reccomend this book not only for your own collection, but makes a perfect gift idea for those wishing to give a tasteful everlasting gift at a very reasonable price.
