Review

Nick Adams—the de Tocqueville traveler of our times—has captured the essence of why America is destined to remain great. In The American Boomerang, Nick reminds us why the virtues of exceptional America are steadfast in nature, that the challenges we face merely temper our reserve to continue our search for freedom and a civil society.

(Edwin J. Feulner, Ph.D, founder and former president of the Heritage Foundation)

Nick Adams is the antidote to all the doubts the Left has sown among us about America's mission. From across the Pacific, he has come to know us well, and love us. In a vivid and readable book, he proves that sometimes a spectator sees more of the game."

(Dick Morris, former adviser to President Bill Clinton)

Foreigners, starting with Alexis de Tocqueville, have shown a unique understanding of the United States and what it means to be an American. Now Nick Adams, a young Australian, writes in this tradition, of old-fashioned American patriotism and courage—which aren't actually old-fashioned at all.

(Michael Barone, Washington Examiner)

The American Boomerang should be compulsory reading for every American. It is a call to action, and an outside voice reminding us of our promise in the world. It reasserts the American virtues we have recently begun to abandon, like faith and freedom. Adams' conservative insight is invaluable and irresistible.

(Ben Shapiro, Editor-at-Large, Breitbart.com)

Why is this place we call America, at this time, the exception to the historical rule? Read American Boomerang to be reminded of the qualities that have made America the most prosperous, free, and benevolent nation in human history, and pass it on to those who may have forgotten.

(Dan Bongino, author of Life Inside the Bubble)

It’s the locker room at half time and the home team is listless, confused, and playing lousy. But Nick Adams has a powerful pep talk for Team USA that is just the kind of bracing, snap-out-of-it, kick-in-the-pants that a great nation needs to get back in the game to win. American Boomerang is more than a sorely needed love letter from Down Under—it’s a timely, wise, and heartfelt plea to America to embrace its inherent exceptionalism.

(Jack Fowler, publisher of National Review)

The American Boomerang is an exquisitely clear insight into our nation's story. Adams is an eloquent voice for conservatism, bringing intelligence and optimism about America's future. In clear and forceful prose, he makes a case that those who may one day lead our nation would be remiss to ignore.

(Nick Desatnick, Editor-in-Chief, Dartmouth Review)

Nick Adams is right on target in his new book, The American Boomerang. He recognizes that the source of American exceptionalism is the people and not the government. This should be an encouragement for people from every nation of the world who seek freedom and prosperity.

(Benjamin S. Carson Sr MD - Emeritus Professor of Neurosurgery, Oncology, Plastic Surgery and Pediatrics; Johns Hopkins Medicine; President and CEO American Business Collaborative, LLC)

Speaking of great works, I recommend reading Nick Adams’ new book, The American Boomerang, which has just been published on July 4.

Adams reminds us once again why America is exceptional. His eyes are outside looking into America, as he calls out to anyone who will listen, God Bless America! As Vince Lombardi once said, "this is a football..." Adams says, "this is America... God, self-reliance, sovereignty in the people not the state, and the freedom to pursue happiness but not guarantee it." Read and refresh your Americanism, lest we into the slope of Fabianism (gradual slope toward socialism)

Very inspirational book with a message of hope while most people are ignoring there is a problem or saying it is the end of the world. If you want to feel good about where we are at and the hope for the future. Then this is the book. I also liked the book The Liberty Amendments and American Séance. both gave me hope there were options to turning the country around.

I started reading it the other night. It made me want to stand on a mountain with my hair blowing in the wind, gazing up to heaven like a superhero. "I am an American!"

I laughed a bit when I heard him referred to as "The Modern-Day DeToqueville." It's true. He visited America, spent time with the people, and understands what makes America special.

This is a book that will remind Americans who seem to have forgotten what makes America the great hope of the world.

One of the best books I have ever read, must read for Americans born after 1940. I was born in 1933 and was taught the basics in grade school. This should be required reading in every school.

I initially saw an interview with Nick Adams on television and felt compelled to read his book. Adams is an Australian who toured America and then put his thoughts based upon his observances of America and Americans in this book. Every American should read this book. It will renew your faith in just how important America and your fellow Americas are in the world view and the example of true freedom and liberty it has set for over 200 years. It also points out the dangers of a world without America and why that can't be allowed to happen. It is truly a GREAT BOOK that everyone should encourage their children to read - give it to them as a gift.

I just bought this book and am highly impressed by the insight and foresight that this young Australian brings to my American worldview. I recommend American Boomerang to anyone who is a serious student of history and wants to be inspired and believe in the American dream again. Five stars.

It's a shame that an Australian should have to remind us, that as Americans, we live in the best and most exceptional country in the world. Some of us still know this, but it's amazing that there are so many who don't. So many who hate what we are still fighting to be. They are doing their best to change us. They prefer the socialism of much of Europe. We are not Europe. We patriotic Americans do not want to be like Europe. Mr. Adams totally understands what is so special about the United States and how close we are to losing it. He did a great job in helping others understand what we are no longer taught in our schools. Kids are now told about all the bad things that have taken place through the years. Instead of explaining the circumstances of why these things took place and how we tried to correct them, many text books and teachers teach condemnation of America. They teach that believing in American Exceptionalizm is arrogant and prideful and wrong. Period.
Mr. Adams loves America and her values. He understands the Constitution and it's uniqueness and in particular, why it works so beautifully. He knows how dangerous it is for our politicians to ignore it, or worse, try to change it all together.
This book should be required reading for every school kid and their teachers. It wouldn't hurt for the increasingly progressive media, who benefit so much from freedom of the press, to read it too.
We Americans are failing our own country. Mr. Adams believes we can still turn that around. I really hope he's right.

An "outsiders" view of America is always a good thing, I think. We fail to see what is good about ourselves because we take so many things for granted, and the 24 hour news cycle tells us everything that is wrong with us. Sometimes we need reminded that there is little we Americans cannot accomplish, especially if we put aside our differences and do it. Whether we like it or not, whether we think ourselves worthy or not, the whole world looks to us. .

Unfortunately, there are those who make a lot of money and acquire a lot of power keeping us divided, on BOTH sides of the political equation.

What Nick Adams has tried to do, I think, is show us what is good about America. In that task, he largely succeeds, mostly by pointing out things we do not notice because they are a part of our daily lives and don't get reported by those 24 hour a day news outlets. Who really notices things like church attendance, for one example, that are so much a part of the fabric of American lives? What the author does is point at what is good about America, and insists that we look. He is passionate about insisting to a fault..

Because of that, the book can seem preachy, even pedantic at times. Those things tend to dilute his very important message to us, and made it hard for this reader to finish.
