A noble attempt at a huge subject matter,

This review is from: The American Presidents: Biographies of the Chief Executives from George Washington to Barack OBama (Hardcover)
Obviously, the amount of data that could have been used in one book would be amazing. As a fan of studying the US Presidents, there wasn't much new information on these men but it's a great book for a 4-5 page summary on each president. It always good to refresh your memory on important facts and this book does that and with a person who might not have a lot of perspective of the presidents, this book is very valuable. He does spend much more time on the presidents from 1970 on vs. the early ones. I'm not sure why and there is a slight liberal stance for those who might be turned off by that a bit. In summary, a good summary.

This review is from: The American Presidents: Biographies of the Chief Executives from George Washington to Barack OBama (Hardcover)
Through the first 39 Presidents the author(s) maintained a good flow and fairly balanced approaches to the subjects. However, when it came to Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush II, and Obama, it was disappointing to see that the author(s) injected so much information that was not based on facts, but clearly derived from their own political leanings. The last page pretty much made me want to vomit. A good book if you stop at maybe LBJ.

Looking for the facts? You'll get some, but this is not a source of unbiased information for my teenage son and daughter. The authors present extreme liberal opinions as facts. The authors also offer some facts and completely leave out others of great importance. The authors have every right to their opinions and to write about them, but this book is described as biographies of presidents and that is what it should be. Good writers learn early on the difference between giving facts and being persuasive and opinionated. My opinion of this book? A waste of money.
