Format: Paperback
A portrait of a brief moment in time. Powerfully written, deeply rooted in the scenic Southwest. Love the desert!

Poignant and unpredictable. Not at all a linear format. In the end, I felt like I was coming home.

She has held a mirror up to the short-comings of this modern dilemma we are in---in an unforgettable way.

Great story line and character development. Couldn't wait to see how the lives of the characters connected and how the story ended. Made me miss New Mexico!

Gripping and transformational. It's the story none of us ever want to face in our lifetimes, but we all know someone who has or will. A random act of violence, a random cell multiplies into cancer, leaving a young boy without his parents. It's a heart-wrenching story, but so true to life and so necessary to tell. The setting around Santa Fe and Los Alamos is as dramatic as the storyline. Beautifully and intelligently written. It broke my heart.

A wonderful story in a beautiful setting, where a random act of violence has a ripple effect on so many people. This is what life is for all of us, where some small action, (good or as in this case, bad), can create such a long term and tremendous change in so many different lives. This is the part that is very profound...I like a novel that makes me think (and its a darn great story too!!!).

This is a 5 for 5 recommendation, not only because of what I have written about, but also because it is impossible to put down!!!

Well recommended!
