5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for all Tudor Lovers!!! September 30, 2013
Format:Paperback
Not for the first time Tudor reader, but a must for any enthusiast with knowledge and understanding of the time period. An avalanche of historical sources, with facts presented from all sides of the debates involved at the time period. This is not just a book for the average reader looking for more information on Anne Boleyn, but serious history buffs who want facts on the reformation, the Boleyn family, and others involved. Claire doesn't try to convince you of her theories or ideas, but presents the facts we know of so the reader can make an informed decision on their own without preconceived biases. Loved the book, love the author, and I will heartily recommend this to anyone!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Anne Boleyn Collection II September 25, 2013
Format:Paperback
The Anne Boleyn Collection II is a must read for any Anne Boleyn enthusiast. Think you know everything about Anne, you may well have to rethink some of your previous conceptions of this fascinating woman. In this book author Clair Ridgway puts to rest many of the myths that have surrounded Anne for centuries, with fact based research, historical data and good sound explanations for her own conclusions. The author also delves into other members of the Boleyn family, bringing to light little known facts of each member so that the reader is then left with a feeling that they have come to know these people just a little bit more.I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend this book as it was easy to read, the chapter size was perfect and it was filled with highly interesting information. Two thumbs up!

I received an ARC for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Written very well and easy to read September 30, 2013
By kbon
Format:Paperback
I'm an avid reader of Anne Boleyn and Tudor related books and this book is an excellent read for anyone interested in the same. I received an Advanced Review Copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review. The book is very easy to read (it doesn't read like a textbook). I was certain I knew a lot about Anne Boleyn and her brother George, but I learned a lot of new things. Claire Ridgway writes in a manner that is easy to understand and she includes an abundance of notes and sources so you can investigate further on the subject.

I would highly recommend this book because it is really easy to read, the chapters are a good size and the extensive notes and sources will tell you where to look if you want to dig deeper.

For that reason I gave it only a 2. It was good reading, but I've read too many well-documented accounts of Anne Boleyn to garnish the sympathy required for this reading. Admittedly, I stopped reading about 2/3 through, so it may have been more objective at the end. Ms. Boleyn certainly did not deserve her punishment, but I don't believe she was the innocent victim portrayed by this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars Most of this I've seen before April 26, 2014
By Brooke
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got this really hoping for a bit of new information, but really it's all been said before. That being said, if you're new to the history of Anne then you might find this helpful. I do think that the author has a tendency to foist her own (rather biased) views on the reader, but I find that true of most Anne Boleyn historians. Also, there was a lot of very dull ancestry stuff that was based sometimes on mere conjecture.

It was a quick read, but there are much better books on the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to your Tudor library! September 26, 2013
Format:Paperback
Let me begin by saying that I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review about the book. And in my honest opinion, this is a great addition to any Tudor bookshelf...

This insightful and engaging read will challenge you to re-think some items you think you may know about the Boelyns, Anne in particular, and affirm others. It was well researched, well written and truly hard to put down. Having now read this book, I walk away feeling that I know the Boleyns a little bit better and yet cannot wait for another title by Ms. Ridgeway so that I could learn even more!

5.0 out of 5 stars utter brilliance! October 6, 2013
By Rebekah
Format:Paperback
I was given an ARC for free from the author in exchange for a fair review! As a huge tudor/Anne Boleyn enthusiast I couldnt wait to read Claire's newest installment to the Anne Boleyn collection! The sheer amount of detail within this piece of work is astounding. Not only is it full of deep, factual knowledge, it is written in a way where you as the reader get lost in the book and you almost forget that what you are reading is factual. I would highly recommend! !
