The author's focus is on Jean Riboud , the legendary leader of Schlumberger for 20 years, under whose leadership was SLB often called one of the world's best corporations. The book does not elaborate on the corporate functioning/growth history of the company which goes against the title of the book.

I read this book when it first came out and I was working for Schlumberger. I had the pleasure to meet many of the people in the book. This is and was a great company with forward thinking leaders who had been in the field, done the work, and understood the issues. Ehjoy!!!
