I own many books and I have to say this one is by far my favorite. Many fiber artist and embroiderers will be drawn to this book, not only for the exquisite photography of Jane Hall's work, but also for her ability to express what inspires her. You will find that we all share the same inspirations and aspirations for our projects. I recommend this highly. Not a how-to book.

Do you need some inspiration? Are you looking for a feast for the eyes? Then Jane Hall's book is just what you need. Her reverance for nature is stunning in her embroidery. The manipulation of fabrics and threads produce life like 3-dimensional versions of the subject matter she is representing. The pictures and narrative combined makes you think that maybe you need to try this type of embroidery just to see if you can do it. If you are an artist of any type this book will inspire and maybe just make you look with keen eyes the next time you take a walk in the woods or your own backyard.

I enjoy this book but had hoped for more instructions than is given. She talks about the materials and techniques but would have liked to see an example with steps all the way through the process.
Beautiful ideas and results on Jane's embroidery!

I discovered this book in a small all-purpose art supply store and knew that I just had to add this to my bookshelf. The artist obviously has spent plenty of time in Nature just observing the conditions and the changes of each season, and we are given a collection of pieces that sent me outdoors to look more closely at the miracles of change and transformation in the natural world. I am not an embroiderer, but you don't need to be one to appreciate this truly marvellous book. More more more!!
