I am an adult fan of Lego and was excited for this book. I have been following Mr. Sawaya for about a year after seeing his Art of the Brick exhibit and subsequently purchasing a piece of his artwork. His talent is unquestioned and unique. What he has done for Lego is beyond ground-breaking and should be (and I think is) appreciated worldwide. Not only does Nathan build amazing sculptures out of Lego bricks, but they have thought and feeling involved in them as well-just like the art you would see at the Louvre or anywhere else. As you can see from the photo on the front, his work is revolutionary and I dare someone to not find it fascinating.

I own his previous book in soft cover-The Art of The Brick which has more pictures, but is not as stunning visually. Upon purchasing this work, I mistakenly assumed it was a coffee table type that was a history and chronicle of his work. It's definitely not that. It's much more of a chapter of who he is that will most certainly be continued. I say this because it total the book is only 36 pages long and showing around 40 different pieces of his work. The Forward by Scott Jones is well done as is the quote from Mr. Sawaya at the beginning and the pictures of his work are stunning and of artful quality. At the end there is a Directory showing the name of each work, which gives you further insight in to the meaning of each piece-but no description further than just one, two or three words.

The opportunity missed was to make this a larger book-at least twice the size. For the price, I would hope for at least double the size of book-maybe more. Also, it would be interesting to gain further insight in to each piece or what the future may hold. My wife enjoys his work as well and flipped through the book in 5 minutes.

I am pleased with this purchase. It was an impulse buy after seeing Nathan Sawaya on The Jeff Probst Show. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that I thought it would be a bigger book because it's listed as a 'coffee table book'. All in all it is amazing to look at. I do have it on my coffee table and have shown it off to visitors. I am considering purchasing the other book of his artwork but would like to make sure it contains different sculptures from this one.

This book had great Lego art, but was very expensive for the size of the book and amount of material contained therein. I bought it for my son and he enjoyed it, but I would have been disappointed if I bought it for myself.

Our grandson is enamored with Legos. We bought this book for him for his 14th birthday. We have not given it to him yet, but after looking the book over, we know he will love it!

Saw his Lego exhibition in New York recently and on my return thought this might contain a record of the exhibition.
It does not, pity, as the exhibition was brilliant!

I had recently seen Nathan's show and wanted to share the experience with a 13 year old who loves Legos. The book did not show all his pieces and was a little beat up. It was enjoyed but I was sorry I did not spend the higher price for the Museum's book.

Too short I bought it for my son who as a child was lego crazy. He looked through it many times and each time said why isn't this longer....a market for those young once and older now.
