I ended up paying DOUBLE what this product is worth through Amazon. Amazon sellers can charge whatever they want, and they are ripping off customers. They take advantage of people not knowing that the publisher sells direct, and that the publsiher is Tim Burton's own publishing company, who is the "only" authorized distributor of "The Art of Tim Burton."

I had written a review earlier on this, but it was erased, yes removed, from this site. Customers have a right to know, so I'm hoping that there will not be a second infringement on my right of speech to let you know you have an alternate choice when it comes to this product.

Additionally, you should know that the current images shown for this product include both, but most notably, the "Deluxe" edition and the "Standard" edition. This makes a considerable difference in pricing. However, you will still pay AT LEAST half for the "Deluxe" edition if you purchase it directly from the publisher.

Don't make the mistake I did, because both Amazon and the sellers will hold to the 30-day return policy to keep your hard-earned money. It is not a good feeling, particularly in these economic times, to know you've been taken for a ride.

If you want to purchase this product, which product I highly recommend, do so at [...]

Again, this is what is noted in Mr. Burton's publishing webpage: "In the US, Steelespublishing.com is the only authorized source for The Art of Tim Burton Standard and Deluxe edition books and Greeting Card Sets.
The authenticity of The Art of Tim Burton Books and Greeting Card Sets offered by any other US outlet such as eBay or amazon.com cannot be guaranteed."

Mr. Burton won't take you for a ride like these guys. And, who better to profit than the creative genius himself, and not some company that is banking on his incredible popularity to overcharge his fans.

The book is fantastic if you like Tim Burton's work (which I think is great). It's everything you would hope for. It also is IN PRINT and costs $69.95 for the Standard Version. So I would recommend you think twice before buying it from one of these non-amazon vendors that will try and rip you off by charging AT LEAST double that. I don't blame Amazon - they can't police everyone. But don't get ripped off. These independents are charging prices as if the book is out-of-print - it isn't. Steele Publishing is the only, officially sanctioned publisher for this book. Search for "Steeles Publishing Tim Burton".

First, I have to say that I can't believe there aren't reviews listed yet for this amazing book. Worth every penny. It's quite heavy too. I quickly flipped through the book first to see what art was actually inside and then I went back to actually read what was written. You won't be disappointed. I loved all the personal touches to the book. There are quite a few pull-outs to view. I bought the standard edition and I'm curious what the deluxe edition entailed. I am a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan and I would have liked to have seen more "Sally" art but this book has a bit of everything for all the Burton fans out there.

I love this book! I look at it at least once a day, and I always find something that I've never noticed before! The book is well organized, and I just love all of the anecdotes that his friends, family, and collegues contributed to the book. If you like Tim Burton this book is definitely worth every penny!

This is a really heavy weight artbook. Has a lot of early paints and sketches from Tim B. As description says, The ART OF TIM BURTON, that's all you'll find: Full art. No movies images or something like that. Just art and paints, (and of course nice comments).

This book is absolutely brilliant. It's as though you've been given access to Burton's high school locker, his drawing board, his attic, his desk at home and even to the magic scribbles he makes at cafe meetings with friends and filmmakers. Wisely, the book's producer Leah Gallo has lumped Tim's work into thematic chapters ("Love," "Alien-Nation," "Happy Horrordays," to name a few), rather than by film, making this trip full of surprising findings even for fans who have seen all his movies many times. The quality of every feature of this book, from font to spine, is astounding.

But what also emerges is a picture of Tim Burton through the comments of those he's touched. I was particularly moved by every single passage written by his partner, Helena Bonham Carter. Here, we see how their relationship has "evolved" as she says, making a witty reference to her first film with Burton. It's clear that Tim remains so prolific, and so affable, because he has found a partner sensitive, creative and loving enough to see the beauty in the man's shadows. It's as though the Frankenstein monster has found his mate, a quirky, creative soul with a bit of dark magic in her veins as well. With her comments, and those of other friends, we both look back fondly at what Tim Burton has created, as well as ponder excitedly what visions are yet to come.
