I really didn't desire to watch this show in the beginning but my partner loves it and now I'm hooked!

I think one thing that they emphasize is team work and how it is very common place in the design world and the world in general.

I have watched the other "pretenders" but Project Runway is head and shoulders above the others.

My husband and I love this show for the creative challenges and overall concept. This team challenge season lost me. It seems very contrary to creativity to expect all creative people to be able to function on a team... and as a viewer, I couldn't really get a handle on each designer's perspective and point-of-view. Also added a whole lot of drama and made it more of the kind of reality show I try to avoid. The talent pool seemed shallow this year as well, but not sure if that had to do with teams. (I mean - people who don't know basic design and sewing methods?) Almost gave up halfway through - but as people were eliminated it began to seem a little more like previous seasons and one could get a better idea of a designer's aesthetic. I applaud them for trying something new, but hope next season doesn't go with teams or some other kind of season long twist.

I love Project Runway and have enjoyed the past 10 seasons. Sadly, I don't know what happened this season. It is truly awful! The designers are not up to the challenges and the clothes are hideous. The fact that Michael Kors is gone doesn't help matters. Heidi - what happened?

ALL the challenges are team play here, which weakens the designs and means sometimes the worst designer does NOT get sent home. BAD idea, this is possibly the worst PR season ever...

It's so bad, but so good. The guest judges this season are hilarious-- Bette Midler, Joan Rivers, and more. I'd watch this show just to see judge Zach Posen's smile and hear his funny comments. He alone inspires me to dress more creatively.

Unlike the other seasons which I admit I watched as a marathon session of Projects Runway, this season is becoming too much Heidi- The first seasons are fun to watch, and watch Heidi speak tentatively- now, she is too much. It ruins the show for me.

Unlike previous seasons of Project Runway, this season the Designers are divided into teams (though the teams are changed throughout the season) which makes it new and different. Some of the teams are helpful and interactive resulting in a better outcome, and others remain isolated and don't do so well. The "unconventional materials challenge" is fantastic! A special highlight of this season is watching Nina Garcia collapse with laughter at one of the fashion shows. Another five star season of Project Runway. Keep them coming!

I loved the show, but the audio and video were out of sync on Episode 2, and I can't figure out how to let Amazon know about this. Since all my other videos are fine, I assume that the video came this way from the studio. If so, they need to correct this problem.

I had to edit this review when I realized that it was being applied to the entire season, rather than just one episode.

Season 11: Five stars so far.
Episode 2: One star because of the audio problem.

this team aspect is working ok for the earlier episodes. i have my doubts as to how well it will work when we are done eliminating the obviously weak. the three people eliminated so far had really bad outfits so it was not a surprise to see them go whether they were team members or not.

one of the strongest designers is daniel esquivel from austin, texas. not only is he wonderfully talented but he is courteous, amiable, helpful and supportive on his team plus displays leadership qualities. since the whole contest is now team based, he is a very serious contender as winner. the native american woman from the southwest also does very artistic work and is wonderful at fabric manipulation. she works ok on a team so may go the distance. although others are showing promise, these are the two standouts so far and they are on the same team.

tim gunn, nina garcia, and heidi are back but michael kors is not. i am not that upset by a new judge. yes, the new judge isn't as funny but he has a lot of thoughtful observations. guest judges are also good with my favorite so far being susan sarandon.

i must say my new favorite of this concept is the ALL STARS version. it is really nice to start off the competition with stronger contestants. in this original series there are some very weak designers who would never make it as far as all stars.

all in all though, i love watching the creative process of creating fashion so it is all good for me.

THE BELOW IS AN UPDATE AFTER WATCHING SIX MORE EPISODES AFTER WRITING THE ABOVE REVIEW.

update: i am now nine episodes in and this team aspect is not working. As the teams got smaller, the constant reconfiguration of the team makes designing clothes almost impossible.
