You are about to read one of the most remarkable and best known autobiographies in all of western history.
Jeanne Guyon is Christianity's best known and most influential woman in church history. Her autobiography has moved the hearts of believers for three centuries. Even today, in France, she is one of the greatest figures of French history.
Guyon is also one of the most prolific writers of all time. Besides her books, she wrote an entire commentary on the Bible.
Guyon's influence reached to the court of Louis XIV. Jealousy insued and she was imprisoned in the infamous Bastille.
Today Guyon is revered by both Protestants and Catholics as one of the greatest sources of help in a deeper walk with God.
Perhaps John Wesley summed it up best: Guyon is the greatest Christian to rise since the first century.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jean Guyon July 13, 2013
This is an amazing autobiography of a woman who loved God with all her heart. She lived late 1500s to early 1600s. At home she was her father's darling - but after leaving home at the age of 15 into an arranged marraige - her favoritism was gone - as she struggled under a dominant mother-in-law. Yet she pursued her love for Christ - and grew in faith as she surrended her life with all of it's challenges to the One who truly and forever loved her. When later in life - she was imprisoned by the church for her loving God with a pure heart - she wrote poetry proclaiming His beauty and sufficiency for His children. If you don't want to be challenged in your Christian life - then don't read it. But if you want to grow closer and more in love with Jesus - then you will love this story.

How can you help but be humbled after reading the spirit of this woman and her love for the Lord to the point of unbelievable sacrifice and submission. And yet what gain was hers in the surrender!!!
