Any Jack Russell owner should have the Jack Russell: Dog Detective books in their libraries, no matter what age they are. For everyone else, these books are just adorable and clever. A fun read!

Another great dog den mystery! While the first few books were easy enough for 1st graders to read, the Awful Pawful and The Sausage Situation are a little more complex. Both have a twist to the story which make them much more interesting for adults. My 2nd grade son was able to read this book fairly easily. It might also be right for some 3rd graders. Highly recommended. I look forward to the next two books which are available in Australia, but yet in the US.

Jack and his buddy, Foxie return home after a vacation and realize something is wrong. They can't find any of their friends outside. Jack runs to all of their houses and finds their noses have been scratched. Who could scare his friends so much that they won't go outside? Will Jack find the truth before he gets a scratched nose? I love this little mystery because it is full of the spirit and innocence of the dog. Very little violence is shown in the story. Children ages seven and older will find this book a great addition to any mystery collection.

This 45 minute short story on CD was extremely entertaining. I laughed throughout the entire story. As a dog owner, if you ever had your dog get into a serious battle with a cat, you will love this story. I have 12 Grandchildren and this story is now making the rounds. They just love it.

I ordered three books in this series and only got one. It is too simple and incomplete as a stand-alone book for my target age group (8 years old).
