4.0 out of 5 stars Delightfully Charming September 4, 2010
Discovering the first Doctor Who has proven to be a delightfully nostalgic experience. This set me on a path to watch as many Doctor Who's I can find from beginning to the end. This is a very good episode.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Dr. Who October 25, 2011
By Natalie
I absolutely love Dr. Who. While I'm particular to the new seasons after they revived it, I loved seeing these old shows. It's so nice to see some of the Doctor's past. I can't wait to see the other "classic" Dr. Who episodes.

It's so hard to watch shows from the 60s any more, with their low budgets, simple props, often simplistic storylines, etc. This episode is no exception. Seeing pale Brits portraying Aztecs is perhaps the worst of it all! That said, it IS the original Doctor Who (William Hartnell), and it is STILL THE DOCTOR! Well worth seeing it once, for the historical record if nothing else. :-)

Enjoy it for what it is, a piece of Doctor Who history. Thanks to Amazon for making it available! Now, back to my (current) Doctor Who episodes... :-D

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting relic
Enjoyed watching it and glad it was available but boy, the acting is stiff. I don't mind the cheesy effects but the acting was pretty bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where (when) it all began
Classic episodes. Classic Doctor. It's almost an entirely different show than what we get now with Tennant, Smith, etc. but it's well worth watching.

I had always heard and read about Doctor Who's "early years", but had never watched. What a pleasant surprise. This enterprise has been a winner since the beginning. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Get the Lowdown
I rated this a 4 star because the film was grainey. I suppose this is the best it could be after all of these years. What a treat you start learning about Dr. Who's start

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic & timeless
The old shows had some cheese, but they really hold up rather well given that they are 50 years old now. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Where it all began.
I would have liked to see more than four episodes. Sure the "Aztecs" look very British, the effects are a little simple, but the story telling is still strong and it still... Read more

Is this a "season?"
Actually this is not a full season. Due to BBC policies in the 1960's and 1970's many of the early Doctor Who episodes were improperly or not even archived and have been lost to history. These four episodes and I believe one or two more are all that remain of the first season. This is the same,... Read more
