Book Description

2010
A rising star in political circles, Kevin Jackson has been called the black Glenn Beck. A poignant yet hilarious narrative with his life as the backdrop for a black conservative's coming of age story. Readers are treated to an insightful journey through the eyes of a black kid who had many pressures to succumb to the "victimology" of Democrats. The product of a broken home, a deadbeat father and poverty, Jackson had all the excuses. Using rapier wit and hilarity, Kevin provides a much needed insight into the black moral high ground from Republicans, and he exposes the widely overlooked history of Democrat racism past and present. Kevin challenges Republicans to reconsider how to take the fight to Democrats and gain America back. The BIG Black Lie is a must in the collection of all conservatives. The BIG Black Lie teaches the reader how to be an unapologetic conservative, something the Republican Party does not have enough of these days. Readers will become empowered by The BIG Black Lie. Kevin's book shows first hand that no one ever has a reason for being a perpetual victim. His raw, revealing, honest story about his father and upbringing only reaffirms that regardless of your circumstances, one can still find a foundation of values and virtues in their lives, which can assure them success in all walks of life. ~~ Armstrong Williams, Conservative Political Pundit, Columnist and Radio Show Host says "This should be a must read for all high schools and libraries." ~~ BE SURE TO VISIT KEVIN'S AWARD-WINNING BLOG WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE GENESIS OF HIS WIT AT WWW.THEBLACKSPHERE.NET

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! July 9, 2009
By Joy
Format:Hardcover
Fascinating read! Kevin's story is a reminder of how family plays a strong role in shaping who we are, but also that it is up to us to define what we believe in. His story is eloquently told in a fashion that has me identifying with his quote: "I was a sponge, soaking in the tales like verbal elixars." His profound message is related in a way that has me LOL (laughing out loud), while learning important lesson's from his experiences. His explaination of how the Democratic party has damaged the lives of people from every race, color, age, economic and education level is enlightening. This book is for everyone who is black, white, red, yellow, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Illuminating, educational and humorous July 12, 2009
Format:Hardcover
This book is a real eye-opener as it breaks down stereotypes of blacks (yes, they still exist) and shows that there is real diversity (of thought, the most important kind of diversity) within the black community itself. Jackson writes with a directness and wry touch that is welcome and refreshing. And he explains a lot of history about the Democratic party pertaining to Civil Rights that usually gets brushed under the carpet. A must read for anyone interested in politics, race relations and just life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb personal story and political analysis July 14, 2009
By F. Lash
Format:Hardcover
I knew this book would be fantastic after reading Kevin's Blog, The Black Sphere, but after reading it, I must say that it exponentially surpassed my expectations. Kevin Jackson's talent for expressing truth in ways that others easily relate to will bring him a lifetime of success and achievement. His personal story is just as riveting and entertaining as the commentary he delivers. Kudos, Mr. Jackson, for this timely work. You will be remiss if you do not add The Big Black Lie to your personal library.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true conservative view of life July 30, 2009
Format:Hardcover
Mr. Jackson is not an Afro-American. He is an American, plain and simple. He has chosen his political and life views due somewhat from his upbringing, but moreso because of the choices he made because of the views of right and wrong he chose. Conservativism is not a political stance, as you will see in Mr. Jackson's writings, but rather a spiritual and moral posture. It is something a person chooses to support...and support for a lifetime...because it is more than our parents can declare, it is more than our pastors can spout, it is more than any employer can ream into our heads. Conservatism is a way of life that we, as Americans, have come to believe through our Constitution. Mr. Jackson, sadly, but yet with a few cajoles, drives a road to freedom in his book that no one other than a color-blind man can pave. He helps us believe that unity through democracy, support of the Constitution, and a belief in conservatism will take this Country, our United States of America, into the reality that our forefathers dreamt; one of freedom.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for All Americans - NOW! August 8, 2009
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am proud to say that I have an autographed first edition of Kevin's book. I hope everyone I can reach will read this young man's work. He says in plain language, without political correctness, all of the things I have thought and felt about the Democratic party. He lays out history to back up his opinions and I am so glad I stumbled onto his blog and later this book. I no longer feel I have to apologize for some of the things I have been thinking. I am not a racist, just an American who wants all Americans to carry their share of the load and live free and independent. I have passed the book on to my daughter and hopefully by all of us learning history, we can make a difference. He also makes me proud to be a Texan and a Christian Conservative. Good job, Kevin. You have a gift and a story all should read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth is Told August 16, 2009
By D. Dunn
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Growing up in a Democrat area, I, similar to Kevin, saw the disparity of what was professed by the Democrat party and reality. The only difference was I saw it from a white point of view. Publicly, I saw them speaking of protecting the disenfranchised, but I saw vastly different undertones and innuendo being revealed privately. I also learned that a hand out was not the same as a hand up, but felt helpless to do anything about it. That is why Kevin's book "The Big Black Lie" is so refreshing. Here is a man that is so honest and so bold in letting us into his private world. It is like sitting on the front porch with a family member who is reminding us all of just where we came from, how we got here, and how others are struggling to catch up for all the wrong reasons. I applaud his efforts to get the word out about the subtle, yet "hard-working," and ultimately oppressive racism of in The BIG Black Lie: How I Learned The Truth About The Democrat Party

5.0 out of 5 stars One more book you should read... September 11, 2009
Format:Hardcover
...in addition to this one: Unveiling the Whole Truth--What the Media Failed to Tell American Voters (Wayne Perryman). Together, they tell of how the Democrats continually hose minorities, the poor, disabled, and anyone else who is deemed "exploitable."

This current health care proposal (HR3200) is a classic case--the only difference there is EVERYONE is deemed "exploitable."

Whatever happened to to teaching a man how to fish for himself? The answer is "the desire for repeat business", and that's what the Dems are all about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glorious and Eye Opening August 8, 2009
Format:Hardcover
For the most part, A very interesting read as to the insights of what turned out to be a very fascinating man. He ties "what" he is to "who" he is. Very insightful life story and a truly interesting perspective of "Liberal Racism" - an unseen poison in our society that is slowly destroying the minority community. Read this, and you too will see the hidden horror of The Big Black Lie.
