Not In Mississippi Anymore,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Ballad Of John Henry (MP3 Download)
The Prince Albert Hall is comfortable with any music genre, so long as its big. Blues runs the course from singer with guitar to singer with guitar and orchestra. I could only think that this must be the musical love child of Pink Floyd and Robert Johnson.
That said, the blues is still down and dirty the way I like them. The orchestral additions do not detract from the blues, even if not what one would expect the hear. The guitar work is exceptional as would be expected from Joe Bonamassa. This is blues that satisfies the bluesman (or woman) and the rocker. Considering this is Prince Albert Hall, the only makes sense. Because, we're not in Mississippi any more. |
