Product Description

Tighten your seat-belts! Bar Method founder Burr Leonard puts the pedal to the metal in this 58-minute workout by combining her most aerobic variations, many of them never seen except in studios, with a fast-tracked pace. Youll do five sets of thigh-work, one of them performed with the ball between your legs and two sets of seat exercises that simultaneously challenge both legs. During the abdominal section youll perform safe, beautiful-looking sequences that will set your abs on fire. Presenting the workout with Burr are Sharon Demko and Kiesha Ramey-Presner, both teachers at the Bar Methods flagship studio in the San Francisco Marina, and Juan Barba, a teacher at the Bar Method studio in Burbank, California. In Kieshas words, Super Sculpting II is intense but with reach for someone to work up to. The choreography is really fun, and Burr inspires you to do it. What you need: * A sturdy chair or portable bar * A soft strap for stretching * Two free weights that are 2-to-4 pounds each * A 7 diameter playground ball The Bar Method integrates the fat-burning format of interval training, the muscle shaping technique of isometrics, the elongating principles of dance conditioning, and the science of physical therapy to create a revolutionary workout that quickly and safely re-shapes your entire body. The Bar Methods unique non-impact exercises target all major muscle groups and increasing physical grace. The result is a recognizable Bar Method Body that features sculpted arms, flat abs, a lifted seat and firm thighs.

I can't say enough about the Bar Method DVD's, and this one is my favorite.

I also have the Advanced Dancer DVD where even one of the instructors on the set was shaking and in pain.

I had such wonderful results with the Dancer's Body workout, I was eager to try a new video from The Bar Method line of dvd's. The workout in Super Sculpting II is nearly identical to Dancer's Body w/ a few variations. I think the Dancer's Body is a more rigorous workout and will continue to use that as my main workout video but will turn to Super Sculpting II on days I am not as energetic. Overall, I am so impressed with the way my body has changed in less than one week I am a convert for life. I had been doing Bikram Yoga religiously, and while I stayed very thin, my muscle tone was awful. My butt looked like a garbage bag of oatmeal - no shape at all. At 44 I was not ready to resign myself to the mediocrity of an aging saggy butt. I have been on the search for THE workout to end all workouts and ladies this is IT. In addition to the yoga, I would drag myself at the ungodly hour of 4 am to the gym and pummel myself on the stair master for 45 min and still no results. Now I workout much less and see AMAZING results. Burr is right, trying to count how many calories burned in a workout is meaningless. I would strive for 1400 cal each day at least. Clearly, I was eating up my muscle and looking worse and worse. Thin and flabby is not a good look. Start The Bar Method and you WILL see amazing results. I cannot believe that I don't have to sweat until I am soaking wet in order to get fit.

First, I purchased the DVD from the Bar Method's website for $20 just as other reviewers said. No idea why the 3rd party seller on Amazon is listing it for close to $40.

Second, this is my favorite exercise DVD to date. My goodness, I can have nice arms!

Over the years I've tried various at home yoga and pilates DVDs but had managed to injure myself unintentionally. I did TRX twice a week at my gym for over a year to regain some strength and to have a trainer with me, switched to Bar Method recently when I switched gyms.

Of these exercise genres, only Bar Method has given me consistent results in terms of how I look. TRX I bulked out and never got a toned feminine look. The toned look only started after I tried Bar at the gym. But since I only liked one instructor out of four and my schedule's a mess, I decided to go the DVD route.

What I love about these Burr Leonard ones is she gives a lot of information about correct form -- and she tells you all this BEFORE you start the exercise, not after you've done it wrong for twenty reps. For someone who's injured herself before, I've come to appreciate this information tremendously. And most importantly, results!

This DVD is about a full hour whereas I have others that are only 40 minutes. As a result I didn't really use this DVD until lately. But my goodness. After just one round, I could see arm muscles! What? Me? After two rounds in three days, I could see sustained nice arm muscles! My seat was lifted. I am so ready for summer with a tank and short(ish) shorts!

A few notes:
1. I rotate between the Bar Method Body Sculpt and this one, the Body Sculpt II. I also have the Advanced Dancer DVD where even one of the instructors on the set was shaking and in pain.

I went to a pure barre class in Cincinnati, OH and absolutely loved it. However, I didn't love the prices. I bought this DVD after reading another review on here that said it was amazing. Sure enough, I'm in love! I have noticed a big difference in 4 weeks! My jeans didn't fit we'll during the holidays in the waist, and now they are perfect! Oh and that was just after 4 classes. I must admit though, I am a bit of a health nut, so I eat pretty well. You won't get good results if you do the bar method then run to McDonald's afterwards. That being said, the DVD is fantastic and the only one I will do at home. Other at home workouts make me bored. But this one, you really have to focus on your form and what you're doing. And you WILL be sore after this and hurt in places you never knew you had. It's totally worth it though. I must also mention that this DVD is MUCH much cheaper at the bar method website (sorry Amazon).

I have 4 of Burr's Bar Method DVD's (this one, Accelerated, Change Your Body, and Dancer's Body), and this one is my favorite so far. It's hard but provides results that keep me coming back for more. That's not to say that her other DVD's are less effective--they also deliver on their promises. I rotate all of them in my routine. This one just seems more focused or something. She does more reps of the most difficult moves it seems. But I highly recommend any of the Bar Method DVD's that I have purchased. My muscles feel rubbery after these workouts, but I can see the "fruit" of my labor soon after: toned muscles, thinner hips and thighs, flatter belly. My clothes fit more loosely as well, to the point of needing smaller sizes now. (And all without any impact!) I also found that when I do straight cardio now (usually on the elliptical machine), the workout is actually easier, and I have to "up" the difficulty level to make it more challenging. I can't say enough about the Bar Method DVD's, and this one is my favorite. Be prepared to burn, and if you can stick it out you'll see results soon.
