This dvd was more about tank design, and comparison, than about the battle of Kursk in my opinion. I would have liked more actual combat footage, and less computer graphics. The strenghts and weaknesses of the tanks was interesting, but more action would have been better. The actual footage shown was interesting, bit I think there could have been more of it. The battle of Kursk was not just a titanic tank battle, the infantry on both sides suffered great losses. But, the germans could no longer make their losses good, the new Tiger tanks, and the Ferdinands and the Panthers, were lost in a hopeless struggle. The russians were ready for the german assault, it was not a surprise. The german formation were bled out, then the russians counterattacked. The germans had nothing left, accept to retreat, and it would be a long retreat indeed. JRV
