Great book!,

The movie is my all-time favorite. Having said that, one can imagine that I didn't expect to find the book very interesting. I knew the storyline already, right? Well, I was wrong. If it would be of any worth to compare a book with a movie, well, I'd have to say the book deserves a 10/10 while the movie is a 3/10. And this is coming from somebody who rated the movie on IMDB with a 10/10. The only reason I bought the book is because I have a trip to Thailand booked in 2 months time (that includes seeing the Koh Phi Phi Lee Island, aka Maya Bay, where the movie was filmed) and I wanted to know all the details possible about travelling to Thailand from somebody who knows everything there is to know about the country, or travelling for that matter. I strongly recommend to see the movie first and, if you find interesting that kind of a storyline, then read the book. Top it up with a trip to Maya Bay and you have a once in a lifetime experience.

Entertaining read. Very dramatic at times. Having recently been to Maya Island in Thailand where the movie was shot made the experience even better.
