Product Description

We manufacture the best training beam in the world! Here's why: Strength - Wood core with weight capacity of 250lbs. No center support is needed and this allows a mat to slide underneath the beam. We use almost twice as much wood in our beam as our nearest competitor. Padding - We use the same padding as competition beams. This gives a realistic feeling on her feet and makes it easy to go from a training beam to a competition beam. Cover - Heavy grade suede. Provides excellent durability and great non-slip traction. Shape - Our beams have curved sides just like competition beams. This will affect her hand grip and provides a more realistic training experience. Reinforced Ends - This is where most of the wear occurs on beams. This feature will greatly extend the life of your beam The beam is made using cross grain laminated wood construction. This gives the beam its strength and prevents warping or twisting. The core is planed and sanded to the competition oval beam shape. Our beams are built as close as possible to competition beams for a realistic training experience. This includes the padding, covering and shape. The padding is closed cell PE foam. The same padding that is used on competition beams. It is covered with a heavy grade synthetic suede material. The material is durable and easy to clean. The work surface is 4 in. wide and the beam is 7 in high. The support braces are 12 in. wide and made of steel. The bottom of the support braces have felt padding to protect the flooring beneath. The beam core is pre-drilled for our metal beam legs which can be added at a later date. This will make a great practice beam. Specifications: Heavy Grade Synthetic Suede Covering Padded Top Felt Padding on Support Braces Cross Grain Laminated Wood Construction Hand Planed and Sanded Core Oval Shaped Sides 8 ft. Long x 4 in. wide x 7 in. high Metal Support Braces Material seams on bottom are covered with wood trim for a finished look. No exposed staples Weight Limit 250 lbs.

It well made, pretty high quality product. I bought it for my daughter who is 10 y. level 5 gymnast (moving up) to practice at home. My major concern was if it is long enough to practice major skills. To my surprise 8ft is sufficient to practice back walkover etc.

My daughter competes level 5 gymnastics, her weakest event is the beam, to the advice of one of her coaches we decided buy her a beam for the house. This beam is awesome, it feels just like the practice beams at her gym, only shorter. My daughter is on it all the time, most of the time goofing off, but she's on it. Yesterday was her first meet of the 2012 season, and guess what, she placed first on beam! Now that's money well spent!

This was a great value for the money. My 3- and 5-year-old girls use it to practice their gymnastics between lessons. At this point, they just do basic skills, but it is substantial enough that they'll be able to practice walk-overs and such as their skill level advances. It is suitably heavy and the suede cover is just like the practice beams at their gym.

My daughter loves this beam we got her for her birthday. It really helps allow her to work some of her beam skills and routines at home while away from the gym.
It is sturdy and doesn't take up too much space and was simple to put together.

This balance beam is, to my inexperienced eye, just as good as any I've seen in a gymnasium. My daughters have been taking gymnastics for a while now, and this high-quality beam has been great and allowed them to progress quickly. My son even enjoys it - the kids make up games and use it all the time!

The beam itself is very solid, consisting of a durable tan suede covering over a padded beam (e.g., the beam is not too hard). It comes disassembled, but all you need to do to assemble it is bolt the two legs on. The assembly is durable - I have no fear about the legs breaking off, and the screws are large. Once assembled, the beam is fully stable - no fears about it tipping, that's for sure.

As far as the price is concerned, for $180 bucks or so, this seems like a great deal. One recommendation - shipping could be kind of expensive, but it's free if you're a Prime member, so it's worth considering signing up for Prime simply because the free shipping would effectively reduce the cost of your prime membership so much.

For a starter beam, I was very satisfied with the quality and price. Bought it for my 10 yr. old daughter who is happy with it as well. She says it's a little softer than the one the gym has.

This is great. The only reason I rated it with 4 stars is because when you move it along the floor the covers on the ends of the legs keep coming off. So, your always putting them back on.

It has a good look and feel. Easy to put together and no missing parts. The kids think that the beam is like the one in there gymnastic class.
